OK, both of us are smokers at the moment. Our saved searches are filtered to those that will meet smokers.
Having been to clubs and perved profiles when we get home we noticed quite a few people we've met in the smoking areas that are on here as non-smokers.
What's the deal here? Are smokers just so widely reviled as to feel unable to admit their addiction? Do folk mistakenly believe that their habit won't be noticed on a first meeting?

I met a guy once, he had on his profile he was a none smoker and wont meet smokers, he mailed me so i pointed out that i was a smoker and he had stated that he wont meet smokers, he said that it was fine and he didnt mind, anyway we got chatting and arranged to meet him at a pub, it was a nice day, last summer, so we got our drinks and went and sat outside in the pub garden, being honest i did quite fancy a fag but trying to be considerate towards him i didnt have one, when bugger me he got a pack of fags out and lit up

If a guy states on his profile that he wont meet smokers.....I point it out and leave it at that...
If he replies saying that he does, I ignore it....
He ticked the box.......and I hate when people tell you something different as to what is clear on their profile.... |

thats me im a social smoker, im very social about it anyone can have one lol
Over all i do not smoke, i only have a fag if im out having a drink, if i didnt go out for 6 months (like thats going to happen lol) i wouldnt smoke for 6 months, i dont smoke at home, work or anywhere else, it really is just when ive had a few drinks
Thing is i have to put smoker on my profile because i always meet new people in pubs so im going to have a fag  |

Yes I call them the 'tailored to suits'. I met a guy who was a non smoker and he stank of mints and tobacco a soon as we met. He also said he had to leave at 4pm because his daughter was staying with him that evening adn he was looking after her as a favour to his ex.
I didn't say that I had noticed he was a smoker, just ate lunch then pointed out that it was nearing 4pm we should leave so he would not to miss his daughters arrival.
He then informed me she was 19 would drop her things then go out to meet mates so he didn't really need to be present, and as he was having a great time he hoped we could go on and do 'something else'.
Of course I said no as I felt it was important to be there for his girl no matter how much of a whirlwind she was and he was gutted because he thought he had gotten away without me noticing his smelly habit and was caught out by his parenting obligations fib.
He tailored to suit and made a crap get out clause which he stated at the start of the meet, incase he needed to 'escape' incase I was dreadful company! Fair do's we all have our get out plans. It was fun to watch his face in dilemma, but thats cos Im a bit of a git.  |

weve had this,had mail from people who dont smoke and wont meet smokers, then you point it out and everyone has said it doesnt matter..
we say on our prof we smoke and make no appology for it... |

I met a guy and he said he was quite tall and slim. No wonder I walked past the 5ft 4 man with a beer belly, propping up the bar..... Thing is I stay for a while as arranged because if I have taken the trouble to get ready I may as well be there than at home alone. Have had some good social evenings with a night night handshake and some good chat/company with those who stretch the truth. |

what gets me is people that put they are smokers, they send us messages saying can we meet... we say no cos we are non smokers who dont meet smokers for fun. They then turn round and say but we are considerate. It doesn't matter we say we wont meet smokers. They then get the huff with us!!

well I suppose its everyones right to choose who they wanna meet, personally I find it strange people who enjoy parties,gangbangs and say they wont meet smokers...I have asked ppl if they wouldnt mind a considerate smoker, which either means I wont smoke in front of them, or I'll not have the smell of smoke on me(sorry non-smokers u dont have dog-noses lol)-If its pretty profile specific, I most likely wont even contact the person(s) |

We get also get this quite alot.We never contact couples who wont meet smokers but frequently get messages/friends invites from such couples.When we message back and point this out they say "we are Ok with considerate ones".

I can honestly say that I have never smoked a ciggy, I find the smell absolutely disgusting and personally was extremely happy when the ban came in to place as I was sick and tired of going out of an evening be a pub or restaurant etc and coming home stinking of smoke and with red watering eyes..
however, on the odd occasion and usually after several beers/champagne( depends how the evening starts!),followed by delicious red wine then some port with the cheese and finally a nice brandy or malt; I do like a cigar as do my some of the peeps I socialise with..so maybe 5 or 6 times a year!
So that's why I will meet considerate smokers..if on arriving the house reeks or breath reeks them sorry but I'm off!
I wouldn't go to a meet reeking of garlic or curry or heaven forbid BO! lol as it's bad form and not considerate! even though I love spicy food!..curry or sex curry or sex? tough decision! lol Ah great curry while having sex! perfect!
