Liquid Silk is the best one we've found.

I would also suggest a visit to the gp who if sympathetic, can be enormously helpful with advice etc.

Don't go for the stuff in chemists that comes in the form of a peasantry, it's messy and unpleasant.

Good luck to the lady concerned.

I didn't know there was a NHS lube.

I don't have any more suggestions as every woman is different.

Yes it is a problem

(so are the peasants, trying to get up there all the time...)

I find that Liquid Silk on it's own burns very slightly and can leave me sore and tender. It also dries out very quickly.

Had better luck mixing it with KY and just a little water (boiled to make sure it's clean).

KY on it's own is just sticky and messy, and dries out quickly...

I'm also experimenting with Maximus which is thicker (but more slippery) than Liquid Silk and doesn't make me sore. But it just seems to spread everywhere, all by itself! It is meant mostly for Anal (and is great for that!) so it's a bit thick for vaginal use (great for toy play though!).

I'd love to hear what other women are using.

Yeah those pesky peasants

Thinking about it someone I know uses Yes and had good results.

It's a very personal thing as far as efficacy is concerned.

I am learning what works for me - but I just wish that I could get some feedback from the boys - they don't seem to care so long as it's wet and slippery...

Really need some help, someone who can offer constructive comments...

(Visions of a guy in a white coat, bonking away at me, and filling in a report form on a clip-board... who said romance is dead...?)

We have used ID Lube for years with ladies from 20s to 70s and it has always worked for us, whether it's vaginal or anal.

Happy New Year!

I certainly qualify as an older lady, I think, but seriously beginning to think I buck the trend as I am always really wet .... We aren't sure what it's due to and mr can actually feel the 'spurts' inside as it continues. I am like this within minutes .... I know it doesn't help, except that it is possible. But also not all older women dry up ...

In older women vaginal dryness can be a result of the menopause (before, during and after) and a natural drop in oestrogen levels but there are other causes too so a visit to a GP should be the first option to ensure that there is no other underlying cause.

Thank you all for the comments.

Yes its only age and after meno all checked out. The do give lube on the NHS but it stings and not really that good.

We will have trying out the suggestions, but please keep them coming.

It does appear that feedback on lubes is needed for all. Maybe its own forum lol

Happy New Year

Thank you

Mrs Dave

Lube is a very personal choice and what works for some is highly likely to not work for others.

I do not naturally lubricate in any way at all and anything other than a saliva soaked finger or tongue needs something or it simply does not happen.

As has been mentioned, KY is next to useless; great for insertion but one you start to move it dries up virtually instantly. I used to get a product call Sylk from my GP but it was too thin.

I have tried so many and in the end I found the Durex Play range to be quite good and cost effective. The "Perfect Glide" is silicon based and last for ages but men say they find it a little too slippery and I must admit the sensation is less. I tend to use that for toys and the "Feel" one for penetrative fun.

It may need some experimentation to find the right one. What works for me, wont work for everyone. Have fun doing so

I don't know, perhaps you're one of the women who don't experience any problems. Excellent if you are.

Personally I use Yes lubes. They come in water based and oil based in either individual applicators inserted into vagina or as a bigger bottle for the exterior.

Available on prescription from GP or purchase direct from Yes. Highly recommend them as extremely helpful and superb quick delivery in discreet packaging. Many offers available on their website.

Liquid Silk, as others also comment. When "in", nature usually responds anyway. So for many, it's "to get started".

Not safe with condoms, it degrades latex.

I agree I get wet extremely quickly, however condoms seem to dry me out and after a visit to chams I can get very sore (and not in a good way)

That's because you're not producing the lubrication as quickly as you used to during sex. Try a little additional lube, it's better than being sore.
