I’ll say it’s likely a profession that can get a lot of trouble involved if they were found out? We both work in education as teachers, so face pics and real names are never used online. C xxx |

They are people who use this as a filter, both in who they seek, but by also those who are appalled by such labels...
See it works.
For us, can take it or leave it as we will be ourselves regards less. We prefer to establish a connection (or not) through our approach with others that appeal to us, what they offer us and what we can offer in return.
We have to say, direct contact in an organised social or club setting is a great leveler or indeed decisive in helping us all know if things are going to develop further."

I'm not sure why so many dislike the term "professional couple* and the like. And it certainly doesn't mean anyone that uses it is egotistical and has an over inflated sense of self.

Agreed.
People set standards that they won't break and its not just Professional types.
There are so many opposites here in fab land, that some form of discrimination will feature in rejecting a profile.
Can't imagine there's too many, will funk anybody type here, but no doubt there will be a few that prove me (mr) wrong |

I never associate the term with big heads, j just see it as I said before, that the job they are in makes their faces a risky business here. Is that really what people think? We don’t use the term to describe ourselves, but we are honwst about what we do C x |

Horses for courses mate. If that's where the bar is for you then that's great, not dissing you at all.
Others set it where it falls right for them. The other misconception that I (mr) think gets thrown into the mix is class, where going off track means there having fun with a bit of rough... I don't believe that its really no more than a noun that people use for preferences here.
Be it age, colour, sexual orientation, fetish yadda yadda yadda, we all have a filter that catches what we don't want, and professional in my view shouldn't really be thought of any differently. |

I tend to avoid profiles that state this... we all work.. just because one has a professional job (what ever that means) doesnt mean they are a nicer person.

It's an observation based on certain professional people who have messaged me and also of some who use the forums. I have noticed that in most instances [ok not all] that they assume that because they use the term professional they are more important than others who use this site.
I just think its them being up their own arse, again my opinion.

It's an observation based on certain professional people who have messaged me and also of some who use the forums. I have noticed that in most instances [ok not all] that they assume that because they use the term professional they are more important than others who use this site.
I just think its them being up their own arse, again my opinion.

I would say any one who earns there living from what they do ie there proffesion is a proffesional . I worked away for 37 years with the same organisation as a gardener geting my hands dirty sime times so i count myself proffessional |

In our case we use it as we’re both members of professional bodies as part of our jobs. It’s not an ‘office’ or ‘suit’ thing as professional bodies exist for people in trades, engineering, nurses, etc as well as more office based work. We don’t use it to seek to exclude people it’s just how we identify in our careers. |
