Brighton - even Hove!

I haven’t had sex with a man involved for over 2 years so what am I? A non action bisexual? Or have I edged (haha) up towards the straight end of the spectrum? Whatever it is, it’s me and I’m not that bothered. Just adding to the thread.

"I know there is a lot of am I bisexual questions on here, but if you only ever have oral with another guy, Never anal does that still make you bisexual?"

If it was an isolated example, you can say it was a bisexual experiment, but you choose to identify as heterosexual

If you are regularly sucking or being sucked, with other men, yes you are bisexual.

Yes I'd say you are bi curious in that instance ,but as long as you are upfront about it and everyone enjoys it,theres no problem.

It seems to me that a lot of guys just like cock. Fewer guys like to snog another bloke and even fewer would consider having a relationship with another guy. I guess that even in 2019 it’s easier to live as a heterosexual. I wonder if there are many bisexual guys who are in a relationship with a man but meet women to satisfy their other sexual needs?

"I know there is a lot of am I bisexual questions on here, but if you only ever have oral with another guy, Never anal does that still make you bisexual?"

Here's my take on this...

Some guys are bi and never have a sexual experience with another man. Some guys have plenty of sex with other men but aren't bi.

Bisexuality isn't an act. It's a state of mind.

To make an analogy, if you drive a car you have probably at some stage transgressed. Sped, parked illegally or whatever. You broke the law and by definition that would make you a criminal. But do you describe yourself to others as a criminal?

SMSM (Straight Men who have Sex with Men) is a rather unexplored area of psychology which would help a lot of guys get past their confusion if they understood it.

I don’t think that comparing it to something which is illegal is at all helpful. Luckily having sex with a man is no longer illegal (in private) and perish the thought that in an increasingly intolerant society we should return to the fear of being convicted for expressing their desire for men.

I’m only interested in Men when dressed and appearing as a woman. Absolutely no interest in guys when presenting as my Male self. However in my mind I’m still bisexual, the clothes, makeup and wig just puts me in a psychological state that I become more feminine, so due to that I find myself attracted to Men.

Confusing isn’t it

I really don't want to get into the difference between an analogy and a comparison. The point I was making is that it is the way you think that defines you not a single act.

If you read what I wrote instead of pouncing on a single word out of context....THAT would be helpful.

As a guy who is openly bisexual on Fab as well as on Fab Guys, I am constantly coming across guys who find themselves unable to identify with their own sexuality. "I don't feel bi, am not attracted to men, but fantasise about cock". It is too prevalent to not be a largely ignored demographic. Yet it is. We are given the choices of straight, bisexual and gay and when someone doesn't fit into one of those pigeon holes they are accused of being dishonest about their sexuality. It causes a lot of mental anguish for those in this predicament.

I wouldn't describe bisexuality as a state of mind. It's a sexual orientation and a legitimate one at that. What this discussion is describing is bi-curious.

It's a thinking thing rather than a body part thing

Don't think it's anything to do with acts. Some gay or bi men don't do penatrative sex. Just don't like it. They are still attracted to masculinity

Is sexual orientation a series of acts or is it the way one thinks (state of mind)?

It's actually a broad philosophical question. Is it who you are that defines you or is it the things you've done?

Take, for instance, the guy who tries sex with another man and decides it's not for him. If you define him by his acts he's bisexual if you define him by his state of mind he's straight.

The problem is this puritan way of thinking. Once you've done this you're that. Human beings learn through a process of experimentation so acts and deeds really shouldn't be attached to us like Jacob Marley's chains.

You would be surprised by how many gay relationships don't involve penetrative sex

People assume that gay guys go round rodgering each other senseless, whereas infact, most of their sexual experiences are oral only

So, bearing that in mind, you're not only bi-sexual but also demi-gay

While you're smoking you're a smoker. The moment you put it out you become a non-smoker until you light the next one.

Exactly this.

I had a salad for lunch. Should I tell everyone that I'm vegetarian till I have fish for dinner?

If I decide never to have meat again, that would be different. Series of acts vs state of mind.

Note: this is not a commentary on dietary choices.

Central

Human interests and personality are each based on a multi-dimensional spectrum, that is not static. Sexuality is likely over several spectra, rather than just one. We each - if we want to - define our sexual orientations, as we perceive them at the time. This would be accurately based on what we like today and what we perceive we may enjoy in the future, even if we've not experienced something.

If we've tried something with one person and didn't like, that experience doesn't sum us up. Maybe we experimented, we weren't ready (if we were to become bi in the future but aren't atm), or it is the wrong person or activity at the time.

Other people may want someone who has had a split second of experience in their lifetime to be absolutely labeled as bi etc - is that justified? I think it's right to define yourself based upon now, your current understanding of yourself. We do evolve, our interests evolve and are better for living in the present.

"does it really matter WHAT you call it? Who cares anyway?"

Apparently enough people to generate a daily thread on the subject.

But yeah. I agree. When I watched Bohemian Rhapsody I was devastated to learn how conflicted Freddy Mercury was. It's so sad that a person so talented had so much focus placed on his sexuality.

"I know there is a lot of am I bisexual questions on here, but if you only ever have oral with another guy, Never anal does that still make you bisexual?"

Love that question! I've asked myself this so often - but have given up now! The only thing I know is that I am not only straight and not only gay. Sometimes I read guys profiles who say that they are completely straight, 'as straight as a ruler' I cannot identify with them, I understand them completely, and funnily enough I also have a twang of envy - how much simpler would my life be if I was JUST straight! But I suspect that this is just a case of grass always greener....

So to me, the rest is just semantics, where does a throbbing cock have to be inserted, or how a juicy pussy be eaten before you have to label yourself bisexual, or any other terms, is just a waste of time.

I understand the need to belong to some sort of sexual identity group, let's make that group universal. I've been out with a hard core straight mate, been out on the pull with him, got laid MFMF, it never occured to me to reach out for my mates dick - I knew he wouldn't want that, and I didn't feel like I was missing something. What was very intimate (and to me sexy) was that I had a great intimate connection with him while fucking the girls - and a great connection with the girls too. We were just a group of people with different sexual orientations having a common ground, through working out what individually rocks our boat.

Isn't that all we need to know?

There and to the left a bit

I think Bussy hit the nail on the head further up - there are many gay men who don't do anal - does that make them not gay?

The *only* right answer to the question of how to label yourself on here is to label yourself however you want, but be honest about it and don't do it to get round others preferences

Ok, I have had 3somes in the past with women. It was a spur of the moment and we all played. I don’t fancy women and I’m not aroused by them but I was aroused by the situation and that the guy was loving it. What does that make me? I wouldn’t choose to play with a woman as the thought doesn’t do anything for me but I would go with the flow if it happened providing the guy was excited by it.

Situationally bi. Labels are difficult, we go up and down the spectrum from straight to gay. I class myself as straight, but I am orally bi in some mmf situations. No attraction to men but have labeled myself as bu so any couples are aware of this.

Labels are needed for searches, but don't do e a human being up.
