I do. As part of the management of it I haven't had a period in years so that actually makes meets easier. I sometimes get spotting or episodes of awful cramping for a few days but fortunately it's never happened when I've had meets planned. I'm sure anyone would understand if I had to cancel due to "lady problems" though as it's only like other women cancelling due to getting their period. The only other thing is that I can't stand cervix bashing as it sets off the cramping. This isn't limited to women with endo though so I've never had guys have any issues with it. I just have to choose positions that work better for me. |

Hysterectomy cured mine.. Had it for years till the constant pain was just affecting my everyday life... But my then Fwb became my current partner due to me having someone at home after the op.. He came and stayed with me for 2 weeks then asked me to move in with him..  |

I have this and it's awful. Very few things have worked for me - the implant didn't and neither have most pills.
I just don't play if I have a flare-up. It sucks but that's life. |

I was diagnosed (very reluctantly by a dinosaur consultant) back in the late 90’s aged 19. It took over my life. I finally got a much needed & wanted total hysterectomy last year just before I turned 43. It turned out also had undetected fibroids & adenomyosis.

Ladies who have had a hysterectomy, this has been something I've been fearful of being likely in my future but you seem to be so positive about it. I can totally see the benefits as far as endometriosis go but how has it affected your sex life if you don't mind me asking? Also the removal of the ovaries basically causes the menopause right? |

I just dont meet if it's bad. I had 3 weeks of this year where I was basically incapacitated with this and the other issues in that area. But I do find orgasms help in the long run |

My sex life is much better, I'm more confident, my sex drive has increased and I'm not getting pain and bleeding most days.
I kept my ovaries so no menopause yet for me, if you do have your ovaries removed, yes, you will go straight into menopause. |

Thanks, I really appreciate the response. I'm glad to hear it's been so positive for you. I can't help but find the idea of not having a cervix a bit unnerving but I guess it would save the cervix bashing and no more smears Haha!
Ah I see. I assumed that wouldn't be an option but being able to keep your ovaries makes it a bit less scary sounding for me. Though mine does quite badly affect my right ovary. I can't imagine its something that would be offered for some time as I'm in my 20s with no children but it's something to think about for sure. |

It took me years to get to them agree to mine because of my age and only having one child. Not having a cervix has had no impact on my sex life at all, in fact, I don't get that uncomfortable ache when men get abit too vigorous.  |

I had it for most of my adult life. When the diagnosis was confirmed (laparoscopy at St Mary's hospital) I resolved to try EVERYTHING until I found something that worked. I'd spoken with a lot of other sufferers who told me they didn't like taking tablets or having injections, and I just thought- well I dont like being incapacitated 2 weeks out of 4, being in almighty pain and feeling awful. So I tried medical interventions, homeopathy, serious pain killers. Eventually tried Zoladex injections for chemical menopause. Worked a treat and I moved on after a couple of years, to the continuous pill. Then I hit the real menopause. No fun there, but the pain I get now is from the residual scarring. I remember not only the pain, but how awkward it could be, trying to explain it to people who didn't get that for 2 weeks I was well and for 2 weeks I was in incredible pain. Meets? I couldn't of sadly. Hope you find a solution xx |

I was put into a 6 month medical menopause using Norethisterone & it was 6 months of bliss!! I had a summer of being a normal teenager.
Back in 2015 I started bleeding after sex (great in meets - not!!) & the bleeding continued for longer & longer until eventuallly in 2016 I was given Prostap injections every 28 days which shut down my system & put on HRT. It took until March 2019 to get my hysterectomy.
I have absolutely no regrets about having the op - it really was a life saver - but I am struggling with the huge weight gain (@6 stone over the 4.5 years?) & feeling very fat & ugly.
I’m looking for anything that will help to get it off again. Have cut down food/calorie intake, reduced alcohol, increased walking. Back to Couch25k next |
