Is there a black list of cheaters / fake profiles / time wasters? We’ve been let down recently and we would like to avoid the situation in the future

Not that I'm aware. It would be way too difficult to police as it would be just their word against yours.

You just have to do your due diligence and trust your gut. If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
