My Wife and I are driving down to Birmingham on the 18th, staying in the Crowne Plaza hotel and looking forward to the Christmas Market.

We will have 2 full days, the 19th and 20th, then driving home on the 21st.

Is there any "Must See" things, places to visit, see,

It's our first time, so any and all advice appreciated

Thank you in advance xx

You'll have a great time and the Crowne Plaza is a perfect city centre hotel.

Birmingham and it's Brummies have a lot to offer, what kind of things are you looking for? Evening/daytime? City centre or travel out a bit?

Do you like your food, drink, nightlife etc?

We have booked 3 nights with breakfast included but aim to eat out during day.

When we arrive on 18th we will probably just have a meal and drinks at the bar until 3pm unless we can get an earlier check-in

Then maybe a hot bath, relax and nip down to the hotel bar around 6 or 7 and have drinks, see if anyone to chat with or company.

Then Wednesday 19th hopefully a full day at Christmas market then an evening of fun, same for Thursday and drive back upto Scotland on Friday

I'm just picturing the bar in the hotel being full of single guys now at that time 🤣

Not sure what the bar is like in Crowne Plaza, so we will check it out first night then may venture into town following nights, unless some adventurous men persuade her back to our room

It's a good bar at that hotel, normally quite quiet though as there's so many other options nearby and people normally like to get out and about.

Within a 10 minute walk or less, you've got loads of bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes so the problem will be choosing which one I reckon!

Thank you, can we PM you direct for advice?

I think on 18th we will just stay in hotel bar and then the next day explore the Christmas market and pubs

We have a fair drive down first day, so hotel bar will be relaxing

It's mainly the Christmas market that we are interested in

You're more than welcome to PM me for advice.

Completely understand your plan on that, no need to go wandering around if you've got a long, tiring drive during the day.

We do love driving but after a good 5 hours drive it's nice to relax, have a nice warm bath then sit back with drinks and see what the evening brings
