I'm new into the scene and have started being verified but I'm really looking at going to a social and meeting new people and making some connections.
Anyone in the area got any recommendations or know of anything coming up at the end of the month? |

Mate it's tough down here. Most of the venues/events are very hard to attend if you're single and even the social get togethers are quite exclusive.
My suggestions - use the video chat rooms to get to know a few locals, try and befriend a single woman via messaging (difficult!) or get to some of the local clubs on a night where single guys are allowed (usually still need an invite ahead of time still). Steamers Quay (TQ) allows single guys on swing nights but you need to at least be Fab verified. Vault69 (Plym)also does on certain nights, you need a membership to attend due to licensing. It's more like a bar with a small playroom attached but as a result is generally good for getting to know people socially before anything physical. Within Temptation (also TQ) has single males welcome on certain nights. I've only been once but wasn't getting the vibe on that night. Utopia always gets the good reviews but is very much couples only. There's a spa type place somewhere near Crediton but I haven't had the opportunity to check it out yet.
I'm not sure why people are so cliquey in this area, I've been into this lifestyle for the best part of a decade and still feel like an outsider looking in when it comes to events locally.
Whereas when I've made the effort to attend clubs upcountry (Midlands, north) everything feels a bit more welcoming and it's easier to get involved - but then it gets expensive by the time you factor in travel and a place to stay. |
