Hey all,

We will be in NYC for a week from 3rd October.. We pretty much have our itinerary set out (proper tourists!!), but we are looking for a hidden gem.. A bar, restaurant etc or something off the tourist route that we could go to one evening... Any suggestions????

Still touristy but you should head to the ever shrinking little Italy. Oh an there's a Nutella store by Madison square gardens that looks amazing!

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

If you like seafood theres a place on the same block as Katz Deli on E. Houston that serves amazing lobster sandwiches, crab etc from Maine. Daytime place. Cant remember the name but you cant miss it - called something like the Lobster Pot or Maine Seafood

Another place thats good to eat and have a wander during the day - Chelsea Market on 9th Ave between 15th and 16th Sts in the Meatpacking District. Loads of artisan bakeries, dairies, delis etc inside an old converted warehouse

I'm going to NYC that same week

I'm planning on going to a cocktail bar called Apothoeke - looks pretty cool.

A revolving rooftop bar/restaurant in the Marriot Marquis Hotel called The View.

No cover charge before 8pm and not extortionate drinks.

There is a little cocktail cafe down the side street of the lion king. I cant recall its name but its all white and down three stairs.

its a place for real new yorkers. It has live music, take the mike ( some great singers), superb d*unks and service until the small hours.

Be warned. You pay for the incredible atmostphere but well worth it.

havw fun. Take the empire tour at around about an hour before dusk (depending on queues). Its an amazing experience to watch nyc from day to night and all the lights coming in. I got quite emotional the first time.

stick to the avenues down town and off the streets. Dont use them as cut throughs. There is a fabulous strip club down 9th. Join nyc weekly news for all updates and special offers. Its great.

take a bus tour ticket. Us it on tours. Youll love them. Red buses are the best.

there is nothing you wont enjoy.

have fun.
