We've got meds for it these days obvs, so although people still die, most people survive it

It's bacterial not viral. It can be treated with antibiotics.

There are outbreaks of plague in many countries every year, including the USA. In bubonic form, its treatable with antibiotics. If it goes pneumonic (in the lungs), even with antibiotics, your chances are slim. But pneumomic plague is rare. Nothing for us to worry in the UK.

You do know it isn't a virus? It's bacterial and a simple 7 day ckurse on antibiotics sorts it.

Because it never went away the vast majority of Europe and many other countries also have inherited herd immunity developed over 100s of years.

In third world and back of beyond a few hundred die of it every year.

You've just picked up on another pointless media scare story....

Its been around mongolia for decades, every year about a hundred hard to reach people die but on the whole its treat with pills...its like pandamic mania in the media at the moment..they were pushing a new type of pneumonia a week or so ago in..where else...China. The hype market still rolling. Oh and this is just a nice post..not meant to offend anyone...please

Flatten the sombraro called the bat soup flu the plague a few weeks ago. The plague killed between a third and half the population of Europe. I don't the the bat soup flu will kill that many

It would have been possibly an issue if posted in fab several centuries ago. It's been posted about in the virus section here 4 times or so, since spring. None of the posters was aware that this is just a fairly mundane health problem today.
