Socials?

We can go to the pub and sit in a beer garden, we can meet Family and friends in gardens for bbq’s, etc. So what’s happened to social meets? It seems people are still reluctant to meet for drinks, chats and laughs?

Anyone here having socials again?

I have had a couple of social meets which were chats over coffee. The large planned Edinburgh social has been cancelled once again due to there being no dj and table service only.

Social meets are supported by fab, with adherence to government guidelines. There's no meets site functionality at present, which could help to spawn sexual meets.

I've not had any of either, yet.

I have had 2 socially responsible fab social meets since we were allowed to.

1 was a walk around my local park area with someone I had been chatting with on Fab a while. We picked a sunny day & it was an enjoyable hour or so talking about naughty stuff.

The 2nd social was a meet in a coffee shop. Again very pleasant.

We’ve been chatting to three couples with the view to meeting for a social, beer garden, etc, but they’re all still nervous about mixing outside their own households. Are people really still that nervous?

We aren't nervous, but it's all down to people's own circumstances and common sense.

I'm happy to have socials but at a safe distance and outside only. Not comfortable going indoors to a pub for a social or anything else.

I’ve had a couple of social meets here in Spain. I generally prefer a social meet initially anyway as I wouldn’t play with someone I don’t have a spark with. It has been strictly social and distanced though

Members of 2 different households can meet in any indoor space, including a private home. Anyone in your support bubble counts as one household.

Current uk guidelines are above so if you are looking to social that is fine even in an indoor space, which includes private homes as long as you socially distance.

Now potentially you could advertise for a couple to come over so you can watch them play partner come over and wank 2 meters in front of you and still be within the guidelines. I personally would consider this a play meet but would be Interesting to see if admin shutdown any advertising of such meet.

I agree it is borderline and probably pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable both within the uk guidelines and agaisnt the spirit Site covid guidance.

I have arranged 2 socials in the past 5 days, one of them ghosted the day of and the other cancelled once he realised I was serious when I said it was a social meet only. He fully expected me to go for a drink and then have sex in his car and we wonder why we're not fully out of lockdown yet... This used to happen to me with socials all the time pre-covid too, seems like a lot of men don't think socials are a good use of their time and effort if they're not getting something in return

Unless it was in a club pre-Covid all our first meets were a no pressure social only to see if we click. The only difference now is to ensure it is a socially responsible meet.

We have had a safe social meet recently and would again for the right person/couple.

It is up to each to decide if they feel comfortable or not doing so. For us we enjoy the human interaction and accept any controlled risk just as we do when going about our everyday life.

For me it is coming to the point I would like to start to play - 5 months is a long time with minimal human as a single. I cant see things easing up on the meeting other for at least a. Couple of months

There is only so much wanking and watching porn you can do.

I had two last week and one this weekend. They are happening. It’s a shame the button isn’t back.

That said there’ll always be someone that tries pushing it to be play. That’s put me right off meeting them at the moment

Ha ha ha ha I mean realistically I can see it being at least October time before clubs reopen if not later, based on the current plan of football Stadiums reopening

Couldn’t agree more. I have been very strict with myself and had only a couple of meets for coffee and beer with no playtime. It’s really bloody difficult as a single.

I’ve done the celibate thing before as an experiment and hated it.

This not being able to play and not working either (I’m in entertainment so pretty much one of the forgotten about jobs) is wrecking havoc on my mental health as I’m so used to being super busy.

I don’t know how much longer I can hold out without human contact

I hear you

With clubs saying they can't reopen as fully functioning clubs until social distancing ends , and then WHO suggesting that social distancing might be with us for another 2 years, it doesn't bear thinking bout for us singles

Sad times innit

I think people are going to start making their own risk assessments sooner rather than later. It’s unbearable. I got a proper man hug off one of my mates (gay and gorgeous!) and said to him his cuddles almost makes it worse as I miss a good old fashioned makes cuddle

A few of the clubs in London are back open now, what are people’s opinions on that? They say you’re limited to mixing 2 households, I’m dying to get back out but just can’t justify it right now.

Has anyone been back to a club yet? If so what was it like and what measures were actually in place?

they wont be open long if they are saying two households can mix as I'm sure that needs to still be socially distanced. X
