Oh my god, get over yourselves will you? People talk about the “flu”, or “the big C” all the time . “The Rona“ is not the first affliction to be given a nickname, and it certainly won’t be the last.

It also clutters up Google seearches for videos of a lady called Rona, who older members may remember, who was spectaculrly pierced and tattooed and made some of the maddest and best amateur porn of the noughties.

Some nurses use the word with each other as shorthand parlance.

"Some nurses use the word with each other as shorthand parlance."

Corona and The Rona both take exactly the same time to say so hardly shorthand parlance

The Rona is shorthand parlance for Coronavirus (Covid-19) with some nurses.

You don't have to like it or agree but it is a fact.

(It's not called corona either.)

Cant say I really give much thought or get irritated by such inconsequential things. Though it seems many do on here. I have much more improtant things to spend my time on. Everytime I hear or read the word rona or corona I start singing My Sharona in my head

Bing is the porn search engine without peer. Surprisingly it's one thing microsoft do really well.

It makes sense in Australian slang. It's a bit jarring outside it.

Globalisation is weird.
