We are currently at the start of a 2 week isolation due to a teacher at my son's school being positive and in close contact

I came down with symptoms the week lockdown began. I still don't know for sure if I did have it, but I had the dry cough and breathlessness for two months afterwards. And I'm pretty fit and healthy. |

Wow its seems mostly you ladies more than men had it in this forum . Hope to god they get these vaccines sorted by spring if not earlier I feel for you all .just these morons that won't listen and don't care . Hope you all recover to full fitness and we can all stay clear of it . Its a year out of everyone's life . |

That's an interesting point tbh..
Jojjy thinks she had it way back in March and is still suffering extreme exhaustion now. I also probably had it but don't have any lasting symptoms. I was deathly Ill for a week but that's all. |

I had swine flu 6-7 yrs ago, totally wiped me out for months and 1st week I struggled to get out of bed, knew of many who had it and some who were put on ventilators and were in comma for 2 months, maybe this needs to be put into prospective as death rates at the moment are very low. |

How does 'long covid' vary from normal pneumonia then?
From the British Lung Foundation Website "Recovering from Pneumonia"
1 week your fever should be gone
4 weeks your chest will feel better and you’ll produce less mucus
6 weeks you’ll cough less and find it easier to breathe
3 months most of your symptoms should be gone, though you may still feel tired
6 months you should feel back to normal |

I was confirmed in having it late April .
Most symptoms went after 2 weeks , breathing difficulties, cough , fever and temp etc all went back to normal.
All gone apart from 5 months later I still have aching muscles in legs and arms really odd. |

It can affect heart, kidney and brain function too. It's a bitch of a virus, no denying that. |

We didn't have any breathing difficulties. Yes Fever spikes, loss of taste & smell followed by an annoying dry cough.
We all isolated but end of March beginning of April you couldn't get tested Without being admitted to hospital. Paracetamol and fluids with sleep is all we needed.
I had my blood tests months ago and it showed antibodies, I didn't take the children for blood tests as they are not diabetic. I had the pneumococcal vaccine a couple of years ago and I have the flu jab annually. This may have made it easier for me to get over but whilst I know loads of people confirmed to have had covid, I don't personally know anyone that had specific breathing difficulties. |

G here. I had a fairly mild case that knocked me out for five weeks in April/May. I still get days now where I find it harder to breathe, or where I simply have no energy. Definitely the long tail of the infection. |

I believe they publish 3 lots of data.
Within 28 days, within 60 days and the remainder.
Admittedly it’s the 28 days figures that are highlighted daily. |

This! I (think) I had it in mid March, the whole checklist of symptoms from no taste or smell, through to breathlessness. I was back on my feet and feeling good after a week but had an incredibly deep cough for a few weeks after and even now I still feel a bit breathless or lethargic some days and sometimes for a week or so at a time. |

It's really odd as we know 8 people who had it in terms of tests etc and all had breathing problems (some more than others) |

. As someone who once took 6 months to fully recover from a bout of flu I can entirely sympathise with you. I wish you all a full and speedy recovery
