why do we never get a figfure for the people being discharged from hospitals when they been treated for covid

The news tends not to report such things. And recovery is a difficult metric given long term effects for many. What's recovery? Requiring oxygen? Needing assistance to use the toilet? Unable to work? No sense of smell or taste? That's the reality for many hospital discharges and some who've been ill in the community.

We won't know the true health consequences of this for years, most likely. Most people survive. Of those, an unknown proportion have at least medium term consequences.

Just check the in hospital numbers.

Going up = bad

Going down = good.
