Yes, it has to. If the restrictions, including lockdowns are so effective today, when we remove them, it becomes easier for the virus to spread amongst people who assembly for long periods of time |

It seems quite likely that the current 'lockdown' was put in place to drop the infection rate to give the xmas period some elbow room.
I think the hope is that we'll end up where we were prior to lockdown 2 being instigated. |

Yes, it will unfortunately.
A lot of people will try to meet their family and friends in this period, there will be a lot of travel and a lot of parties.
Track and trace, if it is working at that time, will be overloaded and any warning will disappear in that fog we call cyber noise. Given the incubation time we will probably see an increase of infections around the New Year and a rise in the mortality in early January.
I hope that I am wrong, but I am going to stay alone and will not travel to see my family for Christmas the first time in nearly 20 years. |

I can see what you are saying but the daily admissions to hospital are no different than 2nd November, despite positive case daily results dropping this last week.
Time will tell but I think unfortunately we will see a spike in January/February and likely to result in another supposed lockdown all for five days. As for the tiers rules when we come out of this, what is the point...... might as well just let people get on with it and on their heads be it, for the few changes in place

That is Crystal ball time, this is a different demographic to people going out and partying, the household mix is a range of ages, and the virus flourishes indoors as social distancing is very lax. Large quantities of time spent in close proximity is ideal for high infection transmission as its not just a one off infection transmission, its being in a continuous inhaling of more virus particles position, (akin to secondary smoking) this is why Xmas is supposed to be for 3 days, so we are back home when symptoms begin to start. |

 we normally attend large family gatherings, but personally this year, we won't. We think it will spark an increase in infection and there will be harder restrictions in the new year, for us all. I have spoken to friends and family, who think the same and are just staying in their own homes for Christmas  |

What have folks been told they can do as Yuletide ? Socialise.
What propagates the spread of the virus ? Hosts socialising.
I expect a new Tier 4 (Like they have in Scotland) to have been already discussed at Senior Government Level, and I expect by the 2nd week of Jan, it'll be made "public" for discussion, and by the end of Week 3 of Jan, in implementation.
Wham's "Last Christmas" is going to be very poignant for some folks, sadly. |

When they broke down where transmission was happening, the home came out high massively.
Now we're telling people it's ok to bunk up with different households for 5 days.
Hopefully people will still be sensible. Those who would have been sensible don't need telling how to behave anyway and I assume this changes little for them.
Those that were going to meet up anyway regardless what was said now at least have some guidance on how to behave. |

I also think the talk of vaccines is a bit premature. Yes they’ve made great strides in developing so quickly, but it’s going to be a huge effort to roll it out - and that’s just here, never mind in other countries.
My view would be if you’re under 50, not front line NHS and in reasonable health, you won’t see a vaccine dose until the summer.

In a nutshell yes. They're telling us tonight not to play board games, cuddle sit too close together with family and that cases will be up again in the new year.
We've had 8 months of restrictions as tough as it is it would be easier to not visit extended family (we're not we're staying in our own home our choice) We're all paying a very big price for a few days and it's just aint worth it because it'll just take even longer to bring under control. The only way out is mass testing and a vaccination. |

We got some wonderful medics in here where people get their information from I do not know hospitals I am connected with are in far worse position then nov 2 that's why restrictions will need to be in place till middle of next year at the earliest |
