Handed over almost 777 million pounds in contracts, no questions asked, no tendering and government paid over the price ...

Wonder which lodge member and government minister is given a nice back hander out of it

Uniserve are on the Crown Commercial Service framework which means government departments don't need to take external tender bids.

This is probably one of the better managed contracts when compared to the ones that were knocked up to give PPE contracts to pest control companies and the like...

Depends on what they brought, for what price and how much it was on the open market ...

No idea.

Uniserve do logistics and warehousing, so it could be pretty much anything...

One 'good' thing about purchasing through CCS is that the contract is standardised, so no sneaky clauses can be added.

Blame it on the media and the public's demands in March and April for PPE at any price. What were the government meant to do, hold a three month tendering process?
