Where did you source that fact from? Regardless of its accuracy, yes for sure there are many other causes of illness, death, misery that don't get 24 / 7 news coverage. Think of what we could do if we all invested as much time, energy and money on our own welfare as we have done on covid? We don't need a govt to pass laws and tell us to eat better, move more, take care of ourselves and loved ones... And yet... |

You are completely right, they should definitely tell people how many people die of heart attacks. Maybe even encourage people to reduce their risk of heart attack, maybe through healthy living?

Much like a lot of nonsense Covid wise on here really.
My dad died at 61 of a heart attack, He probably wouldn’t have done so were it not for the lifetime of unfiltered roll ups & the furring up of his arteries.
Still said cardiac arrest on his death certificate though.
I think a similar thing might be going on with Covid in many places.

It's ridiculous comments such as this and this ridiculous offensive thread that is the reason why we don't need to highlight every single death from every single illness.
It's lacking in tack ,class and frankly basic human kindness to point out stuff like this when 70,000 people have died from covid in less than a year.
And just for the record I almost lost my life to covid after catching it 3 days after my mother died and believe me a heart attack is a much better way to go than covid.
Honestly every day the basic lack of human compassion shown on this site astounds me.
Oh yeah and my young healthy son also has a heart condition so does that make him fat and unhealthy?

However you don't catch heart attack by picking up a can of peas in the supermarket that someone had coughed over half an hour earlier. You don't get the number of cases of heart attack doubling every week, even when government keeps tightening up rules to prevent you catching it.
But yes there are government campaigns to reduce heart disease, preventative drugs that are prescribed to many, and before covid was the national crisis, yes there were regular news articles about the seriousness of heart problems, cancer, and many other life threatening complaints. |

I had a heart attack in July I am not overweight don't smoke & reasonably active, its not pleasant to be blamed for your illness, Covid is killing more people than heart attacks & potentially more difficult to treat |

Yes, you're missing somebody making a nonsensical comparison between a disease that is exponentially increasing over the population, to the extent that if some very stringent action is not taken pdq it could hit 100% in just a couple of months, and a problem that is endemic but is not infectious and though it does cause a constant background strain on the NHS, cannot get out of control possibly causing to up to a million deaths before easter. |
