It doesn't really matter if they go in because of or are diagnosed in there they still need to kept separate from everyone else and need extra careful nursing to not spread it so the pressure is still there. |

The alternative is to let covid infection run rife throughout every hospital, likely causing a repeat of the care homes scandal. If covid got loose on the general wards of a hospital it would require cancellation of ALL other treatment in that hospital, isolation of all patients, isolation of all medical and support staff - effectively a close down of the entire hospital.

It means that the scale of the crisis in the population is much larger than government figures have been suggesting, that asymptomatic cases are out of control, and that "freedom day" was an unbelievably stupid policy. |

Absolutely not, if anything it serves to illustrate the additional pressures faced when you are treating a patient but then also have to factor in care based on a positive covid test. There isn’t a single department in the NHS who’s timings with extra precautions and workloads haven’t been increased significantly. |

That's a strange assumption based on the information provided. My assumption would be that people will get ill regardless of whether they have been tested or not. Anyone who is admitted to hospital with covid symptoms WILL be tested (obviously).
Which experts have suggested that the NHS isn't experiencing the levels of patients that they "claim"? I have looked and can't find any credible sources claiming that.

It can be, if people who are infected and a risk to others, are not tested and isolated appropriately. We may be testing more per citizen than other countries but we are towards the top of the league in terms of infections.
Hospitals need to be resourced appropriately, and their ability to catch up with the backlog of other health problems supported. The public can help to support this, for our own benefit, by getting vaccinated and adjusting their behaviour appropriately. |

I was admitted to hospital via ambulance in December for breathing issue. The Paramedics wanted to take me in due to experiencing covid symptoms.
Yet I was never once tested in the hospital. |

must be a glitch in the computer system; maybe nhs were understaffed due to the pandemic and the numbers got mixed up; over 50% discrepancy is a serious figure so there’s definitely something not right , the hospitals were over ran I heard on the news so no way this story could be true . |

People are admitted to hospital when their condition deteriorates. The usual cause is respiratory distress. Many people are admitted with that problem, in non-pandemic times it will be commonly caused by asthma or pneumonia. By the time the respiratory distress is evident, the virus infection will be nearly over and the bodies massive over-reaction to the infection will be starting. Separating those with a covid infection from those with problems not caused by covid is pretty vital…hence the testing. An infection with the sars-cov-2 virus is itself not going to cause death. It leads to death though, via other routes |
