Israel To Deny Green Passports to People Who Have Not Received COVID Booster

People who do not receive a coronavirus booster shot will eventually be denied a so-called green passport, which allows entry into various venues, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz said on Tuesday.

“This is simply because, in terms of its effectiveness, the vaccine is valid only for a period of five or six months,” Horowitz told Channel 13 television. “After about half a year, you have to get a third dose. Otherwise, the vaccine loses its power.”

Ready for your 3rd jab?

If necessary, we're ready. Not entirely sure we're ready to administer it though! Our clinic is struggling for volunteers at the moment (possibly summer hols related).

Damn and I was planning on going to a gig in Israel next month. Oh well.

Seriously though... And no particular scientific evidence but I'm far from convinced by how efficacious and for how long the vaccines are... My interpretation of the numbers may be different to everyone else but we're all jabbed and they are all still going up.

As for a 3rd jab... I'm sure we will need one and I'll be fine having it as long as they publish some compelling reason why it is needed and how effective it is. But having it for the sake of it, because it should be better than nothing isn't compelling.

They went by the 3 week between shots protacol....studies show that prolonging the time frame between shots actually extends the efficacy of the vaccines... thsts why the USA will be in the sane boat....efficacy in the UK hasnt wained as much....anywhere from 8-12weeks between shots actually prolongs the antibodies from what ive seen about

It won't stop there. You won't be allowed anywhere without a million injections for all sorts including flu, covid, other bollox.

Can't believe people can't see how dangerous this is.

The jabs are not to protect other people they are to protect yourself, helping others is just an added bonus of the vaccines

Ok. But for the time being lets stick to the required covid shots plus the booster. That’s three. Would you like to add another 3 for next year? That’s six. Until we reach the million injections of all sorts we have a long way to go. Do not let your imagination run wild.

in the news today it says the effectiveness drops from 77% to 67% after 6 months ( study here ) so boosters are definitely coming and with it will mean restrictions being placed on those that are not double jabbed within 6 months or have not had jabs???

well that’s it really the case is it you are told you should have the jabs to protect others they main reason being it reduces the likelihood of transfer from one to another. The added bonus is actually that you might get covid but not get very ill. The same as you might get covid and not get very ill anyway.

Not really news is it. This has already been stated it’s going to be the same for all countries. They will require UPTO DATE VACCINATIONS. Which as time goes by will mean having more than two.

I should very much like to visit Israel at some point, that was the first of our trips we have to cancel last year due to the outbreak.

Quite.. Which is interesting how many 16 year olds have been hospitalised with covid? ..I think the protect others stuff is just another of the emotional crowbars they have used all through this campaign to get people jabbed and the soft target of youngsters in particular.

This is what it says on the nhs website faqs...

Why is it important to get a COVID-19 vaccination?

Getting your COVID-19 vaccination as soon as you can, should protect you and may help to protect your family and those you care for.

The COVID-19 vaccine should help reduce the rates of serious illness and save lives and will therefore reduce pressure on the NHS and social care services.

On this point, isn't it interesting that our 8-12 week interval vs Israels 3 week interval between doses hasnt made a huge difference in reality since booster jabs are being recommended in both countries all the same.

Personally I think the pandemic seems to have wiped all historic memory of how an immune system works according to the established understanding of this. Just because you stop being able to detect antibodies to something doesn't mean your immune system has lost the ability to respond to a new infection later on down the line. All it means is that you're no longer in high level surveillance mode and instead will have a few memory cells circulating with the antibodies which can and should ramp up upon binding viral antigen. It's how our immune systems have worked for eons.

What we don't know is whether those who purpotedly have 'waning' immunity ever had immunity in the first place. Post vaccination immunity has not been measured in the vast majority and will only have been done for some eg the immunosuppressed and we know for that group, immunity was not conferred in 100% of those vaccinated and the same will be true of other groups eg the elderly. So what can be said of post vaccination immunity in people who have generally unhealthy lifestyles too? High sugar diets common today leads to suppression of the immune system too so it's not possible to say vaccination equals immunity in 100% of this group either.

Because the uptake stalled on vaccines, so gov needed a way to encourage people to take it up, the latest is have a jab and get free pizza, propaganda works differently with different types of people and always has done, I expect the new trend offer will be something new for the returning students in autumn.

From a science view the vaccine was created to protect individual people, what later occurred are all good bonuses

Its a disgrace countries with good vaccine uptake compared to alot with next to none are talking about a 3rd shot when alot havent had any....after all it is a worldwide issue....surely the population on the planet needs to have form of immunity to all these varients to some degree to eventually control this pandemic....i dont think its a case of IM ALRIGHT JACK THE REST ARENT...get these vaccines out to the far regions and give everyone a chance to fight this pandemic with the same chances we all have had this past yr

Who's "we".

Certainly not sage or anybody that had seen the studies showing varying the vaccine dose and time length gave better efficacy that were available.

Indeed the studies came about by accident in the clinical trials where some time discrepancy happend but strong hypothesis based on evidence that many factors altered efficacy, Sputnik when down the route of using different adenoviruses for your two shots, Modena and Pfizer used different strengths and intervals in the same mRNA concept.

To say we didn't know any better is misleading at best, we had strong hypothesises based on evidence but not much data.

We can learn that to protect ourselves from falling sick or to get healed we still depend on science. This is the best we have got and not our gut feeling. At least in the western countries we rely on doctors medicines and vaccines and even though sometimes we get the wrong diagnosis or the wrong medication or other even more serious mistakes happen, we still rely on science. This is our best bet. Accupuncture and hot stone treatments are not there yet as alternatives.

The facetube brigade: We will not take vaccines until there is much years worth of proper scientific trials to prove absolutely that they are 100% effective and are certified zero side effects.

The same facetube brigade: Boris says 12 weeks will do, we should totally ignore all the scientists, we don't need any trial to find the best interval between jabs.

This is our best bet. Accupuncture and hot stone treatments are not there yet as alternatives."

"Alternative" medicine many thousands of years ago was the only medicine. The correct term is complimentary medicine nowadays. Many forms of holistic therapies are used alongside, and instead of, modern medical practices. Medical studies have shown, for example, some therapies are useful for terminal cancer patients in relieving pain and reducing stress. Personally I'd rather (and I do) receive natural therapies rather than prescribed drugs where possible.

I'm as happy to get the boosters, as I have been with others before. We're not 100% sure who is going to be offered them yet - I'm assuming that the first vaccinated priority group will have theirs first - their immune strength is typically not as high as that of younger people.

The vaccines are safe and very effective. Much of the freedom that everyone has today has been gained by enough people decoding to be vaccinated . The current low hospitalisation and death levels, compared to earlier waves, is because of those decisions.

"They went by the 3 week between shots protacol....studies show that prolonging the time frame between shots actually extends the efficacy of the vaccines... thsts why the USA will be in the sane boat....efficacy in the UK hasnt wained as much....anywhere from 8-12weeks between shots actually prolongs the antibodies from what ive seen about

Wasn't that the 3 weeks the manufacturers recommended... And which when UK gov made it 12 weeks were ripped a new one by many folks... On these very fora... Fuck me it can't be that they got something right can it?

It would appear so.

At the time it seemed like a bad idea based on what we knew.

I guess my point is... Some people... Many people especially on here are very strident about.. "follow the science" . And the gov... Well no let's be honest.. Boris.. Got dogs abuse in these fora for making it 12 weeks.... "when all the science and all the manufacturers say it should be 3 and Boris knows better than the manufacturers what a cunt etc etc"... So my point is... What can we learn from that experience..? And learn by the way means not keep repeating? Perhaps admitting that sometimes the science isn't infallible.?

Now let's project that to 100 of the other threads on here about virus / vaccine / stats etc... What can we learn?

I agree with you. But for serious problems we rely on the western drugs and practices and not on complimemtary therapies or other like traditional Chinese medicine. I remember many years ago I read about a young Chinese woman who decided to treat her camcer with traditional Chinese medicine. Unfortunately without success.

Do you think it might also be due to people having natural immunity through catching it and it helping that we are in summer rather than in autumn or winter.? It will be interesting seeing where the numbers are in autumn. They are already much higher than last autumn when that wave started. I'm personally rather concerned what this winter is going to be like. Fingers crossed im very wrong.

The science is "the most plausible interpretation of the best data we have at the time." Of course it can be wrong. But there's "the evidence doesn't support a 12 week interval" wrong and there's "vaccines are more dangerous than the disease/ kids don't spread it/ kids don't get sick" wrong. (The earth is a sphere. Wrong, but understandable. The earth is a flat plain on a pile of turtles. More wrong)"

Now swing usually you talk a lot of sense but are you saying Terry Pratchett was wrong

In your bed

In the end each sovereign nation will make its own decisions and the people who live there will either accept it or object.

As foreigners we have no right to tell them how to run their public health system. If you want to visit you will have to comply.

I think in the UK there is a debate over whether boosters will be needed for all, as we are probably getting constant boosters given the prolification of the disease.

Certain groups may need that boost but there is a scientific argument that most won't as the initial vaccinations have trained a sufficient amount of peoples systems to recognise the disease and avoid the worst scenarios.

There was an article on the beeb last week, very balanced and so for me the jury in the UK is still out on this.

I wonder what would happen if we had to pay for the boosters? Obviously we already will be indirectly paying through taxation to support budget of the NHS.

In the current model the cost will further cripple the NHS forcing them to allocate desperately needed funding away from treating other illnesses. Then the “privatise the NHS” gang will point and use the reduction in other treatments as evidence of the failure of the NHS calling for it to be fully privatised.

And then...we will all need private health insurance that won’t cover pre-existing or hereditary conditions and won’t cover the cost of covid vaccine booster jabs.

That will mean directly paying for them yourself and that could disadvantage anyone on low incomes ultimately leading to lower levels of vaccination and an upsurge in future infection rates (particularly in poorer and more disadvantaged communities) especially when new variants appear!

Bugger!
