No doubt some will think this is just a conspiracy by dentists to drum up business.

From the website … The Conversation.
If you have gum disease you are 3.5 times more likely to be admitted to intensive care.
4.5 times more likely to be on a ventilator and 9 times more likely to die from Covid.
Am assuming the latter two apply if you end up in IC. |

Imo ... If you are the kinda person who has good hygiene habits Inc flossing and the like, you probably look after yourself in other ways... And so maybe lower risk. |

Is jt not correlation, rather than causation? They may have been able to find other factors that correlate, including postcodes, income levels, access to affordable dental services etc. In many places, the average healthy life expectancy differs by many years, depending on which part of town you live in. |

Oh please expand this point further " ppm who floss regularly may be more likely to wash their hands diligently. Both are from a similar mindset. And if washing hands properly helps, then they are less likely to catch covid.
Maybe we need a dentist pass not vaccine pass ... |

There was an early study that found an inverse correlation between spectacles and hospitalisation from Covid |
