Covid in the household at Christmas.

Who's in the Covid club?

One of mine tested negative yesterday, but today went downhill suddenly half way through the day, and then their lateral came up positive.

How many had to cancel Christmas or postpone it?

Hope no one suffers too badly and everyone recovers soon PW.

I've had covid for 2 weeks nearly and still have symptoms so isolating still.

Merry Christmas

I came down with it on Tuesday.. felt a bit off and tested negative then went downhill Tues eve and tested again which was positive.

Had 3 days of feeling rubbish but much better today.

Luckily was able to have my girls with me last night & this morning for v weird distanced present opening. They’ve gone off to their Dads with clear LFTs and I’m now on my own for the next 3 days.

Fluids and paracetamol going out. Only stuff came back up.

Didn't expect to be cleaning vomit Christmas day.

I'll hold off on giving chicken noodle soup for now.

It is absolutely everywhere, this time lots of people I know are saying they have it. In lockdowns there were not many at all.

My son had it a couple of weeks ago and still feels rough.

My daughters and son in law have it and are really suffering, so I've been shopping, cooking and looking after babies.

I'm cream crackered.

Lots of people I know have come down with it in the last week, and have all been extremely ill.

I'm waiting for my turn, although I'm triple jabbed, so hopefully I won't be too ill.

My brother's Son, who'd been home for a week, tested positive on Friday morning, just ahead of a Christmas reunion of relatives & friends.

My brother and wife have underlying health issues so it was decided to cancel plans as a precaution. All relatives were en-route but had to be notified to turn round and go home!

I'd decided beforehand not to attend for other reasons; it wasn't accepted but now in hindsight, it's realised I made the right decision.

It's everywhere

Managing really well considering said person has an immune system condition. Apart from vomit yesterday they've been a mild case so far.

Tested positive on lateral flow test this morning, Boxing Day. No symptoms other than a bit of snot which could easily be considered "just a cold".

Bang goes my plans for the next 10 days and will now be stuck in the house.

It's 7 days now, providing you test negative on lateral flow tests on day 6 and 7 you can then leave isolation. The rules recently changed.

Christmas ruined here too as my son tested positive on Christmas Day, felt mighty pissed off but can’t change it so I’m testing everyday so far because I work for the NHS and back to work tonight.

Hope everyone who has it isn’t feeling to rough with it.

Hi op - and others who now have it - hope you all recover soon.

I got it around the time of the MLS but didn’t realise I had it as the lft was negative.

Started with a headache (apparently a classic omicron symptom) and went downhill from there. No bad chest but constantly weary, weak, achy and nauseous for well over a week.

Just starting to feel more normal now - but not got to full energy levels yet! Xx

I'm still pissed off I caught it when on my Xmas leave from work my confinement finishes just when I am due back!

Doest it depend if she's vaccinated or not ?

I'm not asking her vaccination status btw

Yep ~ my middle son tested positive on Christmas Eve, we are all waiting for pcr results hopefully sometime today. I've had 3 negative lft but I know that doesn't mean a thing!

Didn't have to change plans he just wore a mask to open his presents with us.

My oldest son, his partner and the whole household that they live in have all tested positive two days before Christmas and are all quite poorly (they are all triple vaccinated).

Luckily no one in my household has tested positive and my son and his partner were here the day before!

6 of us are all still negative (we are all unvaccinated).

It’s a weird virus.

I tested positive Xmas day pcr confirmation yesterday, hubby tested positive yesterday and awaiting pcr confirmation, feeling bloody awful like I got a really bad flu, as much as we tried to avoid it in our jobs we knew it was a matter of time... stay safe everyone, or at least try to.

Consider it 'postponed' in that doing the right thing by testing might have saved a family member getting very poorly.

Hope your all OK and well soon to rerun Christmas with all present.

My feeling is that the numbers will be really high by the weekend. I am not sure everyone will want to report it officially though. If you are lucky and only have mild symptoms you will get people not recording it for risk of not being paid.
