I don’t but you missed the point. Just as with Omicron we may see an initial panic, pharma declaring they need 100 days to create a new/updated vaccine and then hey presto guess what, we’ve discovered the old/existing vaccine still give n% protection. |

It can be more contagious. That's been the direction so far.
The fact that is true does not make it more of a problem if it is less deadly. This has also been the case this far.

Back at the very beginning of this in the first few official govt tv announcements a virologist said “the normal development of noval viruses is to become more contagious and less lethal. We just need to survive the earliest variants until it’s less harmful”. I’m paraphrasing.
Viruses in dead people stop replicating and don’t get sneezed.
Viruses that don’t kill and have symptoms that aid contagion spread more and produce more descendent variants.
This is in all probability good news.

Apart from some immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and reduced death rates? The vaccines were not invented so people could tick a box on an immigration form or to permit access to social spaces.

Vaccination prevented hospitals being overwhelmed and reduced severe illness and death rates enormously because most of the population took them.
There is a new, less deadly strain but those unvaccinated still the most likely to be severely ill or die.
I'm not sure who "wins" in this competition of yours.
Not falling severely ill or dying and not taking up space in hospital from people with other illnesses is a win for many though. |

It's absolutely incredible that the likes of Boris, Biden, Kim and Putin are still not telling the truth about the scam they all hatched over a few beers to boost the profits and share price of Pfizer

What this strain will probably mean is that it will infect more people sooner and run thru the population quicker
Quick rise on one side…quick drop off on the other
Might be an idea to use a mask in crowded places for the next week or two… after that you can put it away
All it is is being sensible, no one is taking away your liberty!!
I know personally of half a dozen people who have had this strain and it’s hit them hard… after 10 days they were fine again ish… |

What happens to a small number of people that someone may know compared to millions is not finding an "answer".

The point, of course, is that although increased infection with reduced lethality is often the case it not always. Also, illness can still be very severe. Especially for the unvaccinated.
The situation is much improved, but not yet "normal". There is a big benefit to many in maintaining some caution. It particularly helps the most vulnerable. |
