"What's really really weird is all the people who are so desperately uninterested in covid that they absolutely MUST look at a forum that they say they don't want to see. It's almost as if subconsciously they know that it's a major problem that is very likely to kill them, so they are driven to actually seek out and try to eradicate anything that might remind them of the reality of their situation. Meanwhile us normal people have always accepted that there is an ongoing threat to health, have educated ourselves about sensible and proportionate methods of mitigating the danger, are getting on with living our lives under the changed circumstances, and are not so frightened of reality that we have to continually deny it. It would be amusing if it were not so tragic, that the ones who keep saying "you need to get on with your lives" are precisely the ones who are unable to do so while ever they keep being reminded that their safe secure virus free world is just a fantasy. | |||

"What makes me actually laugh is that most of the thread's started on here are by deniers." Denial is a coping strategy for traumatic events. I see two iterations of this. One is memory holing things, pretending they didn't happen. The other is very firmly denying and talking very loudly about how fake something is or how you are or were above it. Awareness of symptoms, discussions about how often people test and what is recommended etc... STIs & STDs may not be important as a topic to you but for many of us, we value our sexual health. I can't speak for the guys but for women, some STIs & STDs can mimic bacterial infections such as BV so it's important for people to share their experiences as it gives others an idea of what to look out for. HPV is also one that often comes with very few symptoms but can be deadly if unnoticed and left to cause cervical cancer which is a real threat due to the numbers of women effected. You don't have to look at it. You don't have to take part. Tbh, I'm struggling to even comprehend why you'd make a post about something you don't wish to take part in. | |||

What's really really weird is all the people who are so desperately uninterested in covid that they absolutely MUST look at a forum that they say they don't want to see. Not got an issue with sexual health discussions or indeed any medical experiences good and bad but there are plenty of vulnerable people, people who operate on the edges of society and sad, lonely people who swim in the FAB pool and they would be real bait for the predators, delusional and misguided folks who swim in the same pool who could easily lock onto the vulnerable and take them down a dangerous rabbit hole. From initial kind words and advice on FAB it would transfer to private messages, diagnosis and even medication swaps. Sadly, I've witnessed outcomes a few times in my career. If I'm unwell I try to avoid passing it on to others by staying at home or at least practicing sensibly practice for infection control,I must have been brainwashed.
Do yourself a favour and educate yourself on the history of the bubonic plague and learn to understand how and why it spread and killed as many as it did, how long it took to control and how they finally managed to understand what they needed to do.
No one brainwashed them they learned that hygiene and quarantine are the biggest aid in preventing continued spread.
Had our government not implemented quarantine we may have very well seen death's on a scale hitherto unseen in a very long time.
So wearing a mask is just a way to make sure we are being careful and evolved thoughtful humans.
Plus there's many other reasons he could have been wearing a mask for example he may be having chemo and be immuno compromised and being careful against all airborne viruses.
