"Dad’s just been diagnosed with yet another cancer.
Fuck cancer. Pick on someone your own size. "
Crap news OP.
I hope he's able to get the treatment he needs and makes a full recovery.
Fingers crossed for your Dad.

So sorry to hear that op.
I agree. It's the only thing I reserve the "c" word for.
It's had 6 of my nearest and dearest. So yeah. It can fuck right off. Sending big hugs & wishing you all the very best. |

"OP... I'm a survivor, they've sliced and diced a few times... they know what they're doing, hope he recovers quickly."
Thanks. It’s his 5th op. Keeps on coming back and too old and frail for chemo/radio. |

OP. I agree Cancer can do one! I was at the Christie’s in Manchester yesterday. Having my 3 month scan. We always swap our stories in the waiting room. It’s a very positive place despite what is going on. The main lesson we all take is to not waste your life. Enjoy every single day. Celebrate what you have not what you might lose. The treatment can be brutal so listen to your dad about what he wants. Sending positive vibes. |

I rarely feel the need to swear but fully agree with this. Fuck cancer!
I feel your pain OP and hope your dad comes through it again.
My mum has a rare, difficult to detect and agressive cancer. Sadly, she now has very little time left. |

My friends brother is just going through a terminal brain tumour.
He was given weeks to live just before Christmas and would told he probably wouldn’t make it. He is just due to go into a hospital for his final days. 50 years old. So sad! |

"was it always like this ?"
Without modern meds I’d have lost him 20yrs ago. I suspect folk just survive longer and cancer is a bit of a catch-all term for a lot of problems.
I’m sure all the chemical crap in our environment doesn’t help us.
A number of friends have had treatment, mostly successful, but it’s killed a fair proportion of my older relatives either directly or as a side effect (sepsis after cancer surgery for example).
