I have tried many forms of contraceptives and I am getting really frustrated with it. Can anyone recommend one that doesn't make you bleed?

I have mentioned it to people before and they act horrified saying you shouldn't bleed on the pill.. see a dr. But when I read reviews of pills women are always saying it.

Google suggested the mini pill so I ordered hana. 2 weeks on that woke up this morning bleeding. I can't have a sex life if I'm bleeding for weeks lol

you can still bleed on contraceptive pills, I've found with Hanna ( desogestrel) I had very little bleeding. If you've only recently started it you'll need to give it time to get into your system. I would say if you're bleeding a lot, or very frequently you should see your GP . Talk through any concerns and options. Maybe they can do some blood tests. Good luck

You will still bleed whilst on the pill if you didn't start it on the first day of your last period for a bit...

However, if it's all the time... then get a gyne doctor to check you out and be sure to make sure your tests are clear.

I bleed mid cycle from time to time on even things like the implant.

What about a mirena coil..? Doesn't work for me but I hear goos things from others. Go speak to the doctors or go to a clinic as they can advise best.

I have no suggestions, I can’t take anything with a lot of hormones, I bleed and I got pregnant on the mini pill so I just don’t bother and have to go extremely careful. I’m waiting for the menopause to fully do its job

I always start day one of period, with previous pills I've then bled for the full month, then when pill break comes it settled down, couple of good months then 2 weeks in bleeding. With this hana one I took start of period bled for a while then it stopped for a week now bleeding again.

I had the implant in my arm years ago. I didn't bleed for a year it was great. Then bled 3 weeks out of 4 for 2 years until I had it out. My age probably doesn't help tbh but I was fed up with heavy clotty periods

I had to come off the mini pill as I was bleeding everyday since I started it although not heavy it was constant spotting to the point it was affecting my mental health. I would recommend the Mirena coil or the copper one if you would prefer no hormones. There may be a waiting list though

Perimenopause may be another factor.. sounds like a visit to the GP is a good idea

Op.. as you are saying you take it to help with heavy periods.. have you seen the doctor about this. As someone that suffers with them very badly ( in fact my last bad one my gyne said she had never seen anyone with a bleed as heavy as mine) seeing your GP and getting a gyne referral could be paramount.

I suffer with endometriosis too... and waiting to have a ablation done.. ideally I need a hysterectomy but they always refuse me due to my weight

The coil has worked for my daughter with similar issues and they wanted me to have one but they don't work for me as had one several times before.

It's so different for everyone but I'm on depo injection and don't currently have periods, everything else I've tried I would bleed irregular and for weeks at a time.

Doesn't matter cant block distances

Implant lasts 3 years no bleeding.. I might have 2 times in 3 yrs and depo shot no bleeding I don't do higher risk birth control like pulls or pull out methods.. it's only 99.9% efficiency ones I do

Here and There

I got an ablation to stop my bleeds, in and out same day, less than a week recovery, light bleeding for maybe 2 weeks and nothing since and it lasts at least 5years. Does mean no more babies but if you're not wanting any now I'd recommend it so much.

I am open for questions and speaking about it if needed.

The only thing that worked for me was the Mirena coil. Got the first one about 20 years ago had it replaced every 5 years and had no bleeding at all apart from the first couple of weeks after having it changed.

If you’re bleeding heavily for long periods of time, I would suggest seeing your dr.

I put up with awful periods for years, I just accepted that’s how it was for me.

It got to the point I saw soaking pads in 20 minutes and I finally had enough.

I was referred for tests which found I had endometrial hyperplasia.

I had surgery to clear the lining a bit and to fit a mirena coil.

4 years later and I still get periods but they are regular, very light and only last a few days.
