Anxiety is the new hyseteria

While I understand that anxiety is very real and can cause physical symptoms I'm noticing far too many people especially women being sent away from their doctors/hospital with serious health complaints being put down to anxiety and I've experienced this myself. It seems like history is repeating itself |

The problem with the medical profession is the bible, it still wants to punish all women and 'the sins of the mother' (Eve) is still lingering. This needs to stop.
Religion tells cultures what to think, cultures tell doctors et al what to think and so on.
Doctors hated soap once upon a time...
We were supposed to move on from this ages ago, but no, This is one stigma that won't resign itself to the history books.
I've been described as a sensitive soul, dust allergy, anxiety/depression ad stress.
Doctors need to think holistically and see if a neighbouring discipline has the answers. is leaky stomach sphincters can cause bad breath, and inflamed gums as well as bad teeth.
So is that a doctorr problem or a dentist problem? |

Got a temperature?
Got high/low blood pressure?
Got a weight problem?
Got a circulation problem?
Got a deficiency problem?
Got an optical problem?
We can measure all of those
Got a pain problem....err, were we supposed to think about that? Never mind |

Maybe controversial but this is where AI diagnosis is going to take over, it will take out personal opinion, or researched specialism bias.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a fan of Ai taking over so many aspects of every aspect of our lives but being on the receiving end of medical professionals who form an opinion before fully diagnosing is a problem.
Hopefully medical professionals will be trained to use tools to support them, a combination is the way to go, treat it like two doctors discussing a patients history etc. |

Yeah that could go either way, it's like they have some set tests for your symptoms and if you don't fit their limited test options you're making it up |

You are right.
I need paper maps, sat navs and Google Earth along side W3W. Proper road signs help as well.
AI needs to be another a feather in the cap,: not the replacement. Seeing how these days the waiting lists are in the years. This isn't how to be a hypochondriac, it's knowing what to look for and ask the right questions, the clock is ticking. |

That's great to her and I hope in the future my gut health gets solved, in 14 weeks time.

"It gets blamed for everything, along with hormones or just the fact you're a woman. I've been laughed at by male Drs when I've been in pain because they thought I was just a "dramatic woman" "
Women’s health concerns have a long history of being ignored by medicine. A recent interesting podcast discusses this. Check out the podcast Why? with Emma Kennedy. Its most recent topic ( from yesterday) was on ‘Why does medicine ignore women?’….coincidentally on the same podcast from 21st May there is a discussion on ‘Why do swingers swing?’ |

Anxiety, depression etc. are such enormously broad terms which such a litany of physical symptoms then it's an easy win for most GPs. It's not like you can take a blood test for them.
This is the overworked NHS; If you're not dying, you're a lower priority. It's not their fault. |

I do not trust Ai to give accurate results. I asked recently on Google where I could go on the train from Bridgwater and Ai only told me about trips on a steam train that's in Bishops Lideard several miles away. I definitely would not trust Ai,s answer on a medical matter. |

Agree but as a way to encourage medical professionals to explore a wider range of possibilities it could be a useful tool. But yeah I would always want medical advice from a person not a machine. |

Well I just tested that theory… things I have that I know are correct diagnosis
I challenged chat gpt into seeing if it could diagnose me (after explaining to it I already had the diagnosis and wanted to see if it could guess them)…. It was bang on. One list of symptoms and it guessed every one correctly

8 have no faith in Dr's. I find them universally poor and don't listen, it's been describing my symptoms to the Dr for 2 years. It took one visit to the out of hours Dr to get the diagnosis which was so easy. All they had to do was to take my standing blood pressure. I switched practices after that.
What the difference between God and a Dr? God doesn't think he's a doctor. |

Yeah I lost faith in them a long time ago and yes they think they are God. They very rarely get to the root cause of anything they just give drugs to hide symptoms and send you on your way |

Look outside of your discipline and look into the one next door. For example are mouth problems ENT, Maxofacial or dental? |

You’re right, hardly terrifying.
What’s terrifying is some of the advices I’ve read here! Better laugh about it |

The NHS is overworked due to a lack of joined up thinking, duplications (Same letter printed twice and mailed out on the same day doen't help) |

Maybe but bear in mind the fact that A.I. learns from the data fed to it which in this case will be decades of unconsciously biased decisions made my GPs when presented with similar symptoms. |

That’s better than the letter not being printed and or sent at all which seems fairly common. |

This is so true, my uncle who had heart symptoms was sent away from his doctor telling him it's anxiety, he got a second opinion & turns out he has hereditary heart disease & needs stents asap 🤔 |

The thing with anxiety and depression is that everyone gets it. Some people are just wimps while others experienced bigger things causing it.
I have ASD so I can't do cognitive therapy and my anxiety won't go away but I learned to manage it.
I don't take any time off work ever.
I am prescribed ssri and beta blockers but I don't take them.
I get DLA if I don't have a job. It's the same as the normal job center benefits but I'd never have to go there or get put under pressure. I can't get PIP.
On the flip side I had this woman working for me who was one of those pretend attention seekers who claimed "depression/anxiety" so she could go drinking on Tuesday nights and leave me with her workload on Wednesdays. She did all this emotional manipulation like pathetic cuts on her arm and crap like that.
^^^its not real mental or neurological illness it's just milking anxiety/depression so you can get a sick note or be a lazy diva.
ASD is actually hard to live with and so are alot of the other real conditions.
But I don't throw sickies because one day I'd really need it. (Like if my mum died)
This woman would take mental health days for normal ups and downs.
It makes me sick really because having ASD "I DONT FEEL LIKE GOING TO WORK TODAY"
...but I have a penis and responsibilities.

Anxiety is adrenaline from fear of something.
So cardio exercise or beta blockers reduce that.
But yeh my grandma she was a highly strung German so she had a heart attack. Think the artillery and bombs from when she was young made her panic alot. |
