It won't get you off your head if that's what you mean but it's a very good anti-inflammatory. Just make sure to take it after food others you'll have stomach issues as well to contend with | |||

Yes, that's why I said it's not a painkiller in the same way that paracetamol is. Paracetamol is believed to work on the central nervous system hence the two are effective for different things and can be taken together | |||

It probably depends on your pain level I’ve been on it for ages and it only takes the edge off. It’s a lot stronger than regular ibuprofen. | |||

Yes and no.. it has anti inflammatory properties and is usually taken with Omeprazole to reduce gastro issues. Both meds should be not be used long term. I’m prescribed it, but take very infrequently and prefer, when pain isn’t too bad to take tumeric, ginger etc and use ICE. But that’s just me. | |||

Usually does the trick as an inflammatory, but I've seen some pretty sore stomach linings from use of Naproxen (endoscopy nurse). As others have said make sure to take PPI (omeprazole, lansoprazole) to protect your stomach. | |||

I have knee,foot,shoulder & hip arthritis which causes me great pain especially at night when trying to sleep . I was on it for many years and got took off it after stomach surgery. My nights are awful despite being on other meds but nothing touches the pain like naproxin done . | |||

I was also prescribed omeprezole to protect the lining of the stomach, we're you prescribed that too op? If so make sure that you take it" And take that will deplete your vitamin D. "Yes it works But you need the other medications to protect your stomach " I’m always surprised when you pick something up at the pharmacy like this in the UK they don’t automatically offer you the complementary drugs to look after your body. Naproxen is a very good anti-inflammatory painkiller better than ibuprofen, but it’s not the only way to reduce inflammation and the related pain. | |||

No talk about taking additional meds from the gp." It's an anti-inflammatory doesn't work for everyone and can give more side effects similar as mentioned above about stomach ulcers if already have it can inflame it. I was given it years ago for back and it was useless and shouldn't have been prescribed it given the ulcer I already have | |||

So for years I've been taking it needlessly. Only when I brought it up yesterday,did the Nurse Practioneer say,"oh,you can stop taking that now"! So I've got to slowly wean myself off it.🙄" What have they prescribed instead? Omeprazole is something to protect the stomach from other drugs Have they put you on another nail or an option? | |||
