I recently found out I have anemia and had a blood transfusion, I'm also due to start B12 injections as well as adjusting my diet.
Is there anyone on here who is also anemic if so how does it affect you |

I suffer from time to time.
Its quite draining, it zaps my energy and makes me feel quite lethargic and tired.
If I get a cut or have an infection it takes ages to heal. I'm really prone to bruising at the slightest of touches. I get mouth ulcers breaking out and they are painful.
I get head aches sometimes, and my heart races.
Its usually helped by eating a decent steak... lots of spinach, and drinking stout.
I also take the odd iron tablet which helps. |

"What saved me astray the birth of my daughter and subsequent blood loss when I found iron tablets upset my stomach was a liquid called floradix. I was non anemic within weeks. "
Will give it look thank you, I have been relying on Guinness and black pudding for a while |

I'm so pleased your getting your iron and b12 sorted. It can be a battle with GPs. You will feel so much better after the b12 loading doses.
Symptoms are vast though body ache, restlessness, extreme fatigue, nausea, slow healing, hand tremor. Brain fog. Pins and needles or numb extremities. Difficulties managing your body temperature.
Hope your b12 can be rebooked soon |

I've had pernicious anaemia for 15 years. I get my injection every 2-3 months. Apart from fatigue nearing the injection time I've no other symptoms. I've also restless leg syndrome. I take ropinirole for that, it's an incredibly annoying condition when the tablets don't work which is infrequent. |

I wouldn't worry to much about it. It's not that big of a deal. |

Me on and off! Drives me mad! I’m pale as a ghost, bruise like a peach, could likely sleep for a week if possible! I get heart palpitations as well.
I take tablets to manage mine (when I remember)
