I despised lockdown. It was a moronic thing to do. The advice should’ve been for the vulnerable to consider staying at home but for the rest of us to carry on. It was incredibly cruel to close schools down and has had a huge impact on children. I know of so many people, who still suffer with mental health problems as a result of social isolation and Lockdown.
We should never, ever follow stupid communist rules invented in China. |

"Always makes me laugh at how people react to the subject.
Imagine what would have happened had there not been a lockdown and many more people had died?
You only need to see how much cold and flu cases dropped during this period to see how it worked in regards infection control.
OK it wasn't perfect and I'd like to think valuable lessons were learned, the most important one being:
If you are leading the country LEAD don't be swayed but all the bullshit online conspiracy nutjobs.
Do what must be done and if people don't like it tough shit.
They were never going to get t right but I'd like to belive they tried.
The selfish " it was only a cold " brigade really have no clue.
I'm not going to repeat my personal experience but it wasn't good.
But it's just one of those things like the blackouts during ww2.
A necessary evil."

I have strong feelings about it. Sadly lost my mum despite the pointless "lock down" and then not able to say goodbye to her. Which I appreciate increasingly I still feel very angry about. Very very sad time in our country's recent history of decline....despite it only being a lock down in name, it was used as an excuse to totally remodel human engagement and very much not for the better. |

"Fungal Nail could be an Irish musician.
Shall we spam the thread with Irish Jigs or sea shanty music line by line until it maxes out? "
The title of the old Irish song. ‘The Waxies’ Dargle’ actually sounds as if it could be a medicinal cure! |

Whiskey In The Jar would probably make a fungal nail rot off. |

But who knew if they were vulnerable? Perfectly healthy people died from Covid19. All your advise would have done is allowed for more people to catch it faster and for all the hospitals to clog up. By staying at home, we helped ease the pressure on the already creaking NHS as only those who ignored the rules were exposed.
I agree about the problems it caused some people’s mental health, I see it daily. But it would have been far worse if everyone started ignoring the advise and dropping dead all at once instead of dying in manageable waves, slowly over a few years. Which is a horrible thing to say but that’s what happened.
I agree that anything else the Tory government says should be taking with a pinch of bullshit. |

If they carry on trying over-the-counter meds, it will stay around till 175"
And then multiple people who got encouraged to try any useless things or snake oil, will start new ones |

"God, you scared me! I thought you were going to say a new lockdown has been announced! "
I won’t lie, as a swinger and as someone who has to see people multiple times a day as part of their job, I realised during lockdown that I really effing hate people! Especially when doing my food shopping!
I also hate now that when I’m on a night shift I can’t get any decent food as Covid stopped the majority of 24 hour opening supermarkets so I’m left with overpriced petrol stations when I have the munchies at 3am and need sugar to keep me awake! |

"Yes we were very fortunate. Anyone who lived alone and was working from home or furloughed must have had a really difficult time.
"
I was self employed and didn't get any support from the government at all |

I worked through out lockdown as we help keep hospitals and food industry running, so still got to mix with people then came home and kept isolated apart from the 1 hour daily walk. I quite enjoyed it also especially the sunshine |

There is no such thing as a lockdown. Because mandatory is a made up word under real Law.
Germ theory is also DISPROVEN and not one 'virus' has ever been isolated.
These are facts I'm stating. Go search...and that doesn't mean google top result.
I'm not going to see someone still feeling rockerfeller funded crap relevant. You're just keeping it in the collective |

Quite a few words there but rather lacking in meaningful substance, especially relating to problems like the pandemic. Do you accept that viruses exist and are also the causes of many of our infections, that causes us to get illness? Do you accept the COVID 19 viral infective illness?
A few deniers have thrown material around here, since the pandemic started. It's worth looking back through the 6 years of virus forum history archives, as some won't have seen what's been here before. |

"Blimey was it!
I quite enjoyed the first lockdown."
I did too . The sun shone for 12 weeks solid . Got to know all the neighbours and helped each other doing our gardens/ odd jobs. The street was immaculate. And got a healthy pay out from the chancellor to boot . Wasn’t so bad |

I got worried too, until I read further down..lol
Maybe no lockdown, but price of things and reduction of some items on shelves, due to availability, because of Mr Tango Trump and his “ I am and I Can do anything “ 😡 |

I enjoyed my lockdown.
Spending an hour in the park, walking the dog, being able to use a camera again.
No one crowding me in the supermarket check outs, having weekly online catch ups with work colleagues.
When I did go back to work, because we were classed as essential workers, having the roads to myself. |

"I agree closing schools had a dreadful impact. "
My Niece hated it, as she was all geared up for her exams, that didn't happen. She still got As and Bs, but she wanted to sweat for it in an exam.
My Nephew loved it, as it gave him an excuse not to go to school. |

I remember it well.
And my "Then" employer decided to make 169,000 of us redundant world wide...
Not furlowed... redundant... luckily, I had a hobby which cost me a lot of money to set up which became my job for 2 years and paid the bills.! |
