"Possibly poor circulation, do you get anywhere else?
"
Ignoring the comedy answers, this is a real possibility.
What’s your general health and fitness, BP, cholesterol, sugars like? |

"I'm extremely fit.
The issue seems to be fabrics rubbing against my knees.
I react to some of them. Then I scratch and that sets it off.
"
This is trial and error excerise of discovery -
Dry skin / perhaps contact dermatitis - check your laundry/fabric detergent.
It could also be a touch of nummular eczema (are you stressed? - is there any other red patches on body?).
There might be a possibility of a, fungal infection - it's less common on knees, and more of a feet/groin issue where there is excessive sweat but as your scratching, you maybe transferring something from your finger nails to thr skin)....
Which brings us to lichen simplex chronicus (caused by repeated scratching).
Scabies tends to be more active at night but would not be confined to thr knees.
I would suggest going to your GP/nurse and having bloods taken to see if there is anything medical/blood related.
To ease, try a porridge bath and rehydrate the skin. Yu might be able to get something over the counter from a chemist, go and have a chat. |

Lichen simplex definitely a possibility.
I don't like visiting GPs or for that matter a dermatologist.
They will prescribe topical steroids which is not a treatment, merely a suppression of the underlying cause surely. |
