We should always be cautious about viruses potentially switching from animals to humans, possibly via mutations that change how infectious they are or how they spread.
I'm guessing that this one's connected to having high volumes of people in close proximity, potentially with rodents on the ship.
With so many diseases stuck in 1 group of animals but not humans and their abilities to mutate, there's a ready source of infections that could come out way |

Apparently it's been identified as the type that spreads among humans.
We should not be concerned because we can't do a damn thing about it and if we're all going to die horrible deaths we might as well enjoy ourselves worry free for a bit |

I understand they are trying to work out the source which may not be the ship as the incubation period can be long. It is widespread in Argentina and is closely associated with rodents. As for the 2020 pantomime, it should be a lesson to be vigilant cautious but sensible with precautions and pay attention to those that actually know not just those that have a platform. Generally if worried for good reason try 111 |

"One thing is certain.
The information about it is predomantly spread by people who have just read about it somewhere on line!
Good old Google click bait!"
And that friends is how discussion forums work 🤷♂️ |

We haven't had a corned beef scare for about 70 years.
That was more memorable than the Falklands invasion. |

More scaremongering by the MSM to divert us from the state of our countries. No. This is nonsense.
Ebola has a potential mortality rate of up to 90% but do we wet our knickers over it even though it's common in parts of the world? No, because the chance of contracting it in miniscule!
Same goes for the latest new virus being promoted for clicks and income.
We've all done the being scared of virus thing and most of us have realised that it was basically overly-reported influenza. |

"Did it spread between humans and should we be concerned ?"
Yes, it apparently is jumping across humans, America is in minor panic mode, yes we should be worried. It's not yet epidemic levels, but keep yourselves informed! |

"It is spread by rodents, rarely people, we dont need to be so concerned about it, will the people on the cruise ship be quarantined? That is the big question."
It apparently is passing from human to human but it's said you need long and close contact for it to spread. However as it has a 2-8 week incubation period and they don't know it it actually started on the ship, or if people have already got off who could be carrying it, it's not a straight forward quarantine situation. |

If it is that serious, maybe more people than the newspapers would be more concerned about it... |

"Ive watched this pantomime in 2020, not taking part again in the charade.
Thank goodness someone else with sine common sense!"
You wouldn't believe the amount of people who have taken to messaging me directly, hurling abuse at me because I dare to have my own opinion on this?!?! Apparently im "an ignorant cunt" .... |

Not often you see a pantomime which involves parachutists jumping out of a hercules to deliver urgent medical supplies and personnel to a remote Atlantic island.
Perhaps they just saw it as a good training opportunity... |

Or good propaganda also, you do know its perfectly ok to have a difference in opinion right? |

The news broadcasts are giving information, they aren't telling us to worry or panic buy or isolate or not travel to Argentina or go on a cruise. The only people I see being concerned about this virus are the ones claiming it doesn't exist 🤷♀️ |

I only see the media reports highlighting how miniscule a risk it is and the terrible incompetence it is, for the cruising people. Plus the deniers, decrying the non-existent scaremongering |

"Is it too early to start panic buying toilet paper"
It's never too early to have a good stock of the stuff. You will also need bread flour regardless of whether you use it, tins of random beans and a bunker in the garden |

It probably helps educating yourself rather than listening to people with a political agenda or a source trying to sell papers or get clicks.
Comes from rodent shit / piss
If you disturb it you typically catch it from airborne particles
Can be transmitted human to human but not easily and not often.
Can be very very nasty if contracted with 40% mortality rate in some segments of the populous
Bearing in mind many people will go undiagnosed and survive this 40% is probably very inaccurate
Isolating now is too late as so many have left the ship during incubation period
Wirral (again) is bracing itself for influx of passengers who are to be monitored for 72 hours and released to isolate at home if no symptoms.
If they were really worried then they would dock the ship offshore and keep everyone there until they were sure it was going nowhere. They aren’t and so this is likely more a media circus than a possible repeat of Covid.
Again my opinion formulated from independent research and not just social media - up to you if you want to read more or just knee jerk react to some bullshit on Facebook |

The first time they discovered this version of the hantavirus strain was because there was an incident in this part of Argentina a few years back when a birthday party turned into a super spreader event….
13 kids died………. |

I asked how many people in the world have hantavirus in the world right now
Google
Its hard to say but 200,000 people each year according to the WHO contract hantavirus
So if that's the case why the big panic
Everyone has to make up their on minds
But also remember fear sells vaccines
Your body your choice always |

There is already talk about a vaccine
My point is why do we need a vaccine
South korea is already before this outbreak working on a vaccine ?

I don't know how they got hold of his balls, unless he had died. Thankfully, the virus seems to be low transmission and infection risk. |

Because this particular strain is very virulent… its death rate is something like 40%
The only good thing about that is the death rate is so high it can’t really mutate and is so good at killing people it can’t really spread at great speed

But isnt it only 3 or 4 people who have died of this strain ?
So 40 % dying of it
It all seems a little strange but who am i to question it
Its been around for 2000 odd years
Ps im not panicking if anyone thinks i am
