Mr here. So Mrs has some fairly prominent surgery scars on her upper body with a large heart surgery scar between her boobs as well as two large scars across her shoulder blades. I was wondering how people thought about things like that as we were messaging a couple and planning a meet when I mentioned them so they wouldn't be surprised or put off when the time came. They immediately stopped messaging us. So would it bother Any of you guys?

It shows that your wife has fought illness and injury and survived, I see her as a stronger lady and have full respect for her.

I hope your wife shows off her scars with pride.

RESPECT to both you and your amazing wife.

Please don't let one person's reaction knock your confidence. Surgery scars are evidence of what you've been through and come out the other side of.

Most of us have scars, whether they're visible or not. They tell the story of our lives, our challenges, and our resilience.

If someone is put off by a surgical scar, I think that says far more about them than it does about you. The right people will see you as a whole person, not focus on a mark on your skin. Be kind to yourself ...those scars are a reminder of your strength and resilience ❤️

Firstly, wishing you a speedy recovery.

Personally I have a lot of scars, I had surgery Jan 2025 I have a complete 360 scar around a line from my pubic area to my boobs and scars on my boobs.

I honestly havent recieved a single negative comment about them.

Once my scars were healed enough I used silicone scar tape and most of my scars are very faint now. Xx

Thank you, that's very kind.

The silicone scar tape works really well on old scars too. Its also helped with one of my scars that were thicker and helped soften it up.

Also, I dont mention my scars before meets. Whether that's the right or wrong thing I dont know. But i dont feel that I owe anyone and explanation, if someone asked i will gladly talk about them but there are enough photos of me to see what I look like 💁‍♀️ xx

Very strange to behave like that.

I'd be very happy that somebody was healthy, safe and recovered personally.

As a masseur,I've seen lots of scars on body parts and it does not have any affection me other than they are alive and well .

Basic respect I'd say.

It's a very odd issue and it's all their problem.

Personally, I don’t think that you need to “warn” anyone about scars.

They are part of her story and part of who she is. Her “imperfections” are just perfect.

Other people’s opinions do not define her worth. It only means they’re missing out.

I’m sure that your beautiful wife knows that her scars don’t take away from her beauty. X

Hello, any scars that people have are a part of there journey in life, it would never put me off meeting them, I have own on my tummy from 7 bowel ops in 21 ye8ars, I'm not worried by them at all, I'm here, still breathing, it was a necessary thing to happen, without them I wouldn't be writing this , be proud everyone

I think that by them discontinuing the conversation, says more about than than you.

Scar tissue tell a lot about the individual - it's the story of life, never universally smooth and always bumpy like country bog road.

It will never give the full picture but will illustrate the journey.

The right people will alwayz see beyond them and look to the whole person.

I was told by a surgeon that a scar was a sign of a past event; a badge of healing. I have scars from both operations and accidents. I suggest a large percentage of folk have scars, not least women who have had caesarians. If they put anyone off it is their problem!

Scars of any kind wouldnt bother me. I know it may for some, so I actually offer to show them before even getting to a social.

I have a healing scar on my neck from a recent operation and it is still in the healing stage. I like to be up front about it, and if they want to see, I share. Most dont though

Scars don't bother me but some people find they aren't to their taste for many reasons. I don't like big beards or moustaches ( I know it's not quite the same) so I'd probably turn down a meet with someone who has them although perversely I quite like how Joe Marler looks.

If you mention it and people decide it's not for them it just means you're incompatible.

I nearly died in a house fire 4 years ago this month. No pulse or heartbeat when dragged out (faulty cooker wiring.)

I was in a coma for 36 hours with a 50/50 chance. I have a burn scar that covers about 80% of my back. I'd be interested in people's thoughts on this.

Scars shouldn't detract from how attractive someone appears, someone can still have a really sexy body with or without scars.

Other things can be a much bigger turn off.

They immediately stopped messaging us. So would it bother Any of you guys?

I nearly died in a house fire 4 years ago this month. No pulse or heartbeat when dragged out (faulty cooker wiring.)

I was in a coma for 36 hours with a 50/50 chance. I have a burn scar that covers about 80% of my back. I'd be interested in people's thoughts on this."

first of all wow amazing that you went through that and still came out the other side x and from what we've seen in this thread you shouldn't have anything to worry about connection and personality count for so much more in this lifestyle than we realised x

"Mr here. So would it bother Any of you guys?"

I would not be put off at all you did right to be upfront with them, it says more about them than you.

I was stabbed yrs ago in the back tbh i usually mention to folk then they can make informed decision.

I do not think many in life go through life with scars etc.

It's part of life and the couple sound to be very shallow if that put them off, we all carry scares of some kind .... I would say you are better off without having met that couple ...xx

Stacey has similar scars for the same reason OP, it’s never put her off and so far doesn’t seem to put other people off either, Some people are just weird, wouldn’t put us off, be good to compare lengths….. of the scars…. Honestly some people’s minds go straight to the gutter!!

Wouldn't bother me at all, part of life things happen, scars happen, and if they are open to talking about them then it's a topic of conversation too.

I’d imagine it’s quite faded if she had it as a child ( my daughter had open heart surgery at 2 and at 20 it’s very faded )

But don’t think it’s an issue at all. I’d only be curious to how she / anyone got scars but still wouldn’t ask ! I’m just nosey !

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

We all have scars or blemishes of some kind, it’s part of life. So anyone who is put of by this is living in a fantasy world. I would imagine 99% of the ladies they lust after have staples in the middle page.

She should be proud of her scars and that she survived.

How incredibly stupid they must be, then.

Scars are real and reflect what has happened to your wife over the years. I don't see why they're significantly different to tattoos or similar.

Astonishes me just how unpleasant some people are in Fab. The loss is theirs.

Somewhere in Norfolk ask :)

I’m covered in scars, mainly on my forearms and they are very prominent , the ones on my neck less so and the ones on my legs you can see slightly.

The face scars are noticeable but mainly to me because I’m paranoid about them but it shows I survived being with a not so nice ex and that I’m still here.

It’s strange no one at clubs or meets mentions them yet strangers in vanilla pubs often ask what they are or how I got them. The worst thing was my previous employer asked me to cover them up because they were offending people. I didn’t realise at the time because I was so humiliated that I could have taken them to hr for that. I hope no one is put off by scars but there really is nothing I can do about it and if they are then they are not for me. The same for you OP anyone that stops chatting or rejects because of that isn’t worth your precious time

Hi, not sure if you have looked or even thought about it, but there is an amazing tattooist called Katie in Barton upon Humber and she does incredible 3D nipple and areole tattoos which look so real they’re amazing, we recommended her to a friend who has just had a double mastectomy; her work is on Facebook under Katie Harrington Tattoos.

Everyone has things they are self conscious about. Celebrities with “perfect” bodies still go for surgery.

Scars, birth marks, skin conditions etc are all part of life. Very low of people to judge others on something they can’t control. Embrace what you have and be proud of you. Confidence is the biggest attraction
