Looking for people who would be interested in a social gathering in Caerphilly/Blackwood area.
Would like your input!.
Would it be something you would attend or would u guys find it too close to home unlike cardiff or Newport ones?..
Looking at hosting this event on a Thursday or Sunday evening.
Could run from 18.00-24.00.
Will be open to all validated members.
Couples, single men, single women & Tv/Ts.
It will be strictly social with no playing what so ever.
Fun Ice breakers in a fully licensed stylish premises and if it something that people are enjoying then looking running once a month.
If anyone would be interested in attending, then please feel free to comment here.

From memory there was a social that used to happen in Bargoed a few years ago now. I never went, the couple that arranged it as far as I know, are no longer on the site. Why it stopped I am not sure, I would certainly pop along to support, however I suspect that as many (not all) of the men here are ‘fab single’ they may have reservations for obvious reasons lol! |

OK, so with a good few people interested is there anything you have encountered at other socials you may have attended that you would like to see at the social or would like to happen.
Obviously no playing at the venue but that doesn't mean we can't have fun, gosh knows we could all do with a good laugh and let our hair down after the year and half we have had.

Well, I think the Cardiff Social model would work. Just some reserved tables, and a chance to talk. A pub that does food if people want to order it. You'll have enough to organise without complicating matters. |

I did not know this and sad that they are still not a thing.
Would just love to have something close as can not always travel further afield as I work away for 2 weeks of the month. X

Well seeing as I live in blackwood i would be a fool not to show interest in this, however if it were the Thursday and not Sunday I couldn't attend as I work afternoons. On that point though either of those days the next day most people would have work anyway so would you possibly consider the Sunday for the venue ? |

OK. To have a social before Xmas, the only day I could possibly got it in would be Thursday December 2nd.
How many people would like ot this soon or would you rather wait until after Xmas where a Sunday maybe better.
Due to my work commitment a Sunday before Xmas is not possible but I am happy to organise for the 2nd if enough people can make it.
Let me know here or inbox if you prefer. I understand not everyone wishes to post on the forum and am happy to answer inbox for anyone interested.

Well that takes me out of the equation. Hope it goes well though, maybe I will have better luck if there's another. Please post how it goes though as I'm interested as to how many turn up, what the ratio was, Couples to single females and males. |

Definitely after Xmas we could alternate or find the best day forvevery one. Or if enough people we could do Thursday and Sunday in that week.
I work away in London for 2 consecutive weeks of the month so hard to fit in before Xmas for me.
My work at the mo starts on Monday for now so getting to London from Wales for 13.00 when I don't drive is a bit difficult haha xx good old public transport. X
I am deffo happy to run 2 a month on both days if that helps people and there is enough interest.

I was due to attend the Swansea social on that day but not sure what’s happened as the thread has gone. If it’s cancelled I can make it to this one.
Might be worth Thursday one month and Sunday the next of you did one a month rather than 2 the same week.

We are gutted we had to cancel going to the Cardiff one but unexpected things happened and we couldn't go, we are hoping nothing messes this up for us as we need a good laugh and as Blackwood is only up the road from Tredegar it is a perfect location for us |

This purely because of the amount of interest I have had so far.
I would like definite names and number of all who will be attending, we are still in the pandemic and want to make sure the venue is at a good safe capacity for those attending.
Dress code is NO Trainers, smart casual or what ever you guys are comfortable in.
Feel free to inbox with definite attendance and any questions you may have.

I want people to arrive, relax, have a safe place to be comfortable and open to chat about anything they wish.
The venue is solely ours for the evening.
We are a community in our own right and should have the freedom to be who we are, even if it is only one evening a month.
No playing at all at the venue.
Am looking forward to meeting everyone this tonight.
Come, be yourself, relax and
Have some well needed giggles.

Exactly. Its not as if trainers are not allowed in the venue. Just seems to me OP is dictating that nobody should wear trainers because he doesn't, or doesn't like them. I go to Cardiff and Bridgend socials, and while its smart casual dress, trainers are allowed |

That is totally up to you.
I'm not Hitler and say it was law or a rule.
It's just a suggestion for no trainers.
But if you aren't attending then there is no need to worry.

Somenthing has come up last minute, absolutely gutted as was looking forward to meeting you all, we’ve even been looking at the forum all week and was exited to meet many that we’ve seen attending, yes unfortunate that it’s the same night as Swansea but I think it’s great that it’s going ahead, Swansea is a stretch away for us so we hope this succeeds tonight and we everyone had a good night so we can meet you all again x |

But will definitely look at when other socials are and try and work around them.
I only get 2 weeks off a month and wanted to put one on for the people who were interested, test the waters and if all goes well we can make it a monthly thing.

No hun, only smoking was outside and mirrors in the ladies
Put the feelers out a few weeks ago and had enough interest to go ahead with it.
The people that came were all amazing so I will definitely be hosting another towards end of January.
It's a great venue, only open to fibbers so very discreet and can be comfortable to chat away with out fear of scaring any locals or giving them a heart attack. Hehe.
Bar staff amazing and owner amazing and very opened people.

Looking forward to seeing the crazy lot that came last night again as it was a brilliant evening with laughs non stop.
