How about someone organise a Bridgend social like our Cardiff Swansea Newport counterpats ? Not sure if its been tried in the past but hey an idea to guage interest and someone with organisational skills to take up the mantle and arrange something what do you all think  |

Bridgend used to have one in some pub in town but parking was hard if i remember rightly. Anyone can organise a social anywhere and I am sure ppl will come its just getting a venue thats not to expensive cos ppl wont pay a lot. Good luck. See if you can find a local pub with a function room and say its a charity or friends of the earth function might get it cheaper lol |

Ok ill put some feelers out on venues and see what the lie of the land is in the meantime if you would be interested in attending please say so so that I would have some sort of idea on capacity needed thanks  |

the last bridgend social was held in weatherspoons and it was not like the socials are now-anyone could just turn up coz it was just in the pub so didnt have to hire any part of the pub  |

THIS IS WHAT WE DID FOR THE VERY VERY FIRST EVER CARDIFF SOCIAL YEARS AND YEARS AGO LOL WAS IN A LITTLE PUB OPP MILLENNIUM STADIUM IN CARDIFF NOW LOOK AT WHAT IT IS IN A BIG PLACE FROM LITTLE ACORNS DO OAK TREES GROW OR SUMMIT LIKE THAT LOL |

As I said more than happy to help out but this is sambas baby lol sorry to pass the buck mate but a get together in a pub does sound good but it would limit numbers though xx |

i know it was me that suggested to Samba to organise it soz. But it costs money to hire a function room and what happens if not enough turn up and he is out of pocket. From experience i know a lot of em say we will be there but dont attend so maybe a get together in a pub first to find out how much interest anyway will see what happens would help all i can tho |

choose a big pub lol-not sure which one is big havnt been in pubs in bridgend for years but sounds a good idea to just have a get together 1st then go from there-i wont be going tho |

I can take care of arranging something like this hotel nearby if people have to travel and id have the date as 18 May |

So miss 38g r u going to do this then as I can think of another place as well I had my 40th birthday there it's slightly out of the way and hotel near by as well and just if m4 xx |

would be good we do have to get more local socials on the go i travel to most of em anyway love a good social years ago always had a few on the go lets all see what we can do |

In my experience they do kitty kat.they loves the cardiff one I be there too but bad timing .vanilla weekend for me needs a wicked one to get over or under it.lol.saint bad poppyxx |

Why is it all the social party's are in the bigger towns/city's? Would love a social up here in the valleys, aberdare sounds great means we can have a drink and not pay out for hotels or catch the last train home think yummy should sort it out xxx |
