Not swinging related this, but just read the news that Oakwood Park will not be re-opening for the 2025 season, with it's owner saying it's no longer viable.
Granted it was never the best theme park in the UK but it was a rite of passage for many thousands of people and I would bet it was the first theme park most of us here in Wales ever went to.
Sad times  .

Was gutted to hear it's gone. Probably the first theme park many of us Welsh lot went to....still remember running back to the bus on a school trip after thinking we'd sqeeze in one last go on the pirate ship 🤣.
I'd guess the majority of the rides will be broken up and given new homes somewhere |
