Have any couples been to the dunes at Dyffryn recently.

It seems to be just guys this year ?

well if the single guys stopped being so rude & like bloody meerkat in the dunes. Then probably more cples would tolerate them, but until that happens then it's a NO

As a single guy, the dunes brigade/meerkats make me cringe.

As much as I’d like to get out of the breeze sometimes, I just stay on the beach and chill just so as not to be associated with them.

I think they need find somewhere else to practice the dune ninja antics, I’m even scared to ask for a bit of assistance with sun cream on the back save being associated with them (the struggle is real😂)

Rant over no lol, I’ll be enjoying some “non dune” sun tomorrow afternoon hopefully 😎

Snowdonia & Costa del Sol

we have pitched our tent and parasol in the dunes at morfa Dyffryn for many years and have met some really great couples and singles there. Sadly in recent times it has changed a lot due to the inappropriate behaviour of some of the men who now go there. J gets continually propositioned even if she is alone for a few seconds and has ended up getting dressed as some of them don't seem to understand the word NO.....We will be back soon and hope for better this year.

Such a shame a few idiots without manors spoil it for the rest, but seems to be the same at so many locations these days.

West Wales and Cardiff

The life of a Morfa meerkat is mostly a rather forlorn one, I imagine.

I completely agree that it can be a pretty unwelcome experience for couples and single women. I’ve had friends who’ve had bad experiences. Even I, a single guy who sticks to the beach or the “floor” of the alley, have had an uncomfortable experience with a guy.

There are the odd couple who do welcome the attention and the more brazen approach though. Absolutely fair enough, but while there is a small chance of having fun, there will always be meerkats .

We have found all the guys who actually come close are very engaging.

We always say hello, some respond, some run away.

Some are a little bit forward, but we ask them to give us some space and be happy to chat later if they are passing.

Always found it best to be upfront, a couple of guys have said something like "can I join you" but we have politely said no thanks but thanks for making the effort to stop and chat.

We've actually met up with a couple of guys in Barmouth in the evening for a few drinks, great time.

If it become too much of a bother we'd move off the dunes onto the beach.

Be visiting again in June.

Seems to work for us
