I wouldn't buy anything. I'd invest and hopefully see about an 8% return on average per year.
That would be about £120k before income tax, £80k after it. You could probably be more tax efficient.
I'd use that £80k to live on and re-invest.
In theory this would give you a comfortable but not extravagant life for the rest of your days.
