Well how does one start this conversation?
I guess I wish to hear mostly from ladies here why is the current trend or preference towards shaving smooth? My current personal preference from previous experience is unshaven for many reasons, firstly in my mind it is a vision of womanhood which could be a part of my childhood perception of womanhood, women had pubic hair and children didn’t not (yes I’m showing my age). However as an adult my experience with partners who have gone from shaven to unshaven or vice versa, there is definitely a change in feel and touch, fragrance and flavour toward more sweetness is in my personal experience for the better when unshaven. The change in pheromone production in that area alone is greatly different. My most memorable teenage encounter was with my first big curly bush which was new to me aa all my previous encounters were shaven and I doubt I will ever forget it as it was a wonderful experience. As for the science when people say shaved is cleaner has been debunked in favour for the natural. So I’m just looking for other people’s views and experiences on this. Does it feel better for you, is it just for the look, have you not thought about it?
My partner’s that I have talked to about this never really had an explanation other than they thought it was expected by their partners and or a social expectation and so after I had no expectations of them either way often reverted to not shaving or trimmed. Yes as I’ve said I have a preference in my mind but I would in no way expect someone to change their image for me, i like to allow people to express themselves as they see fit because that is their human experience and I just want to share in it not impede it.
However here people seem more bold in their exploration of their bodies and maybe able to offer me a better insight into what is means for them and what their experiences with it is.

It looks better, it smells sweeter, it feels better (nothing between the skin to skin contact), getting hair stuck between your teeth does not feel sexy to us, waxing or shaving all the way for us. |
