Having recently changed our plans of travel, we have decided to visit Wales!
(Mid June)
Having only ever driven through Wales before, we would LOVE some suggestions of places to stay/visit.

Thanks for your response! 🥰
We are travelling over on the ferry from Dublin to Holyhead, so will be staying locally (Anglesey, possibly Conwy) but are open to suggestions.
Would love a little adventure into Wales and hopefully include some fun and fab frolics 😈 |

If you’re heading down South at all, the Gower Peninsular is a seriously brilliant place to visit. A bit of everything there, and spectacular coastal scenery as a backdrop Pembrokeshire is pretty darn good too. |

Hi. Im an ex coach driver and if you are staying in the north wales area then snowdon is normally a must see and if you fancy it you could catch a train to the summit. I would also recommend caernarfon and the castle. You also got the option if you like these kind of things of doing a zip line through caves in Blaenau Ffestiniog. There are some beautiful areas in Wales that a lot of us Welsh people take for granted and dont realise it there. Enjoy your trip though. |

West Wales and Cardiff |
North Wales is amazing (far too many “Hwntws (South Walians) don’t realise that).
Ynys Mon (Anglesey) has lots of amazing beaches, like Newborough Sands. Personally, I’d avoid Snowdon, as it is just so busy these days. Beddgelert is nearby though, and that’s a lovely village.
I would head for more remote spots like the Nantlle Valley and the Lleyn Peninsula (avoid Abersoch and its Ferarris)!
Whilst Y Wyddfa (Snowdon) is really busy, there are many quiter mountains in the Carneddau, Moelwynion, Berwyn ranges etc. I’d head for them for car trips or walks.
I love Portmeirion - the Italianate village near Porthmadog. Some think the entrance fee is steep, but I don’t mind. It’s not just a village - there’s lovely woods too.
It’d be a bit further to go, but southern Eryri (Snowdonia) has amazing spots too. The Mawddach Estuary is gorgeous, the Aran Mountains are great etc.
Coed-y-Brenin is near there - the original mountain biking centre. I think there was talk of it closing, but I might be wrong.
Enjoy . |

Wow! Many thanks for all the input…
Seems like there’s plenty to do and places to visit.
We will check out the suggestions later, once we’ve chosen and booked the accommodation.
We’re so grateful for any help and guidance
🥰🥰

I may be biased, but North Wales is stunning. Anglesey and anywhere from Barmouth around the Llyn peninsular to Llandudno and Rhos is fabulous, and of course there is the incomparable Snowdonia to consider too
Conwy/ Llandudno would be fab place to base yourself. Hope you have a great time, and if you both fancy a drink and a chat let me know |

If you’re going to be heading down to south wales from Anglesey then may I recommend a stay in Aberaeron. Jeremy clarkson stayed there recently and said it was one of the best places in the world and the hotel he stayed at ( the harbourmaster ) is the best hotel he’s ever stayed at |
