I've never seen somebody argue against school and education before.
Schools give a massive shortcut to gaining knowledge, instead of every single person figuring every single thing out for themselves we use what other people have figured out before us and can reach the same level and build on it.
Standing on the shoulders of giants of you will.
Imagine going into an unfamiliar dark room and trying to find something. It would be pretty difficult. Now imagine that the first thing that happened when you entered the room was that someone showed you where the light switch was and how to use it. It would make your search a lot easier.
There are a lot of valid criticisms of our school system but to those probably have a bit too much nuance for here.
Just think, if there were never any schools you wouldn't be on your phone or computer sharing your wisdom.  |

I see your point. The best teachers I had were those who encouraged self learning and to see all perspectives of a topic.
They were pretty rare it must be said, but I'd argue a formal education is still important as put eloquently by the poster further up the page. |

Education is a way for people better themselves and in poorer nations it is the way out of poverty for many.
Not everyone is academic , you try and find a childs strenghts and work with that. It could be that they like sport or are arty. Its not all about exam results and going to Uni |

I kept wondered why people were putting question marks at the end of sentences that werent a question.
After using my phone for Fab I think its because when you use your phone emojis on Fab they come up as question marks instead of smiley faces.
Am I right ? |
