The SQ internet page states
COVID19 UPDATE
Just to let you all know what we have been up to during this madness.
When we reopen (hopefully soon), you will notice some changes.
To conform with standards required, there will be a 2 metre space marked on the floor of the entrance stairs. We have also made a few changes to the layout of the lounge area, and also made two separate changing areas.
We hope to see you all again very soon when we allowed to reopen.
Until then, stay safe !

This is what it actually says referring to single men...
"The top floor is reserved for couples and single females. Single males are only allowed on to this floor with an invitation from a couple or single female and must leave this floor after the invitation has ended. Invitations to the couples area are the resposibility of the person who issued the invitation." and this..." Single Males - Please read the sign shown below before coming to the premises. This sign is on the stairs leading to the couples only area. If you feel you can't follow this rule, don't attend. Simples! You WILL be banned from all future events." It does not say anywhere that you have to be with a couple or single female to actually enter the club, only that particular area of the club.  |

I couldnt see any info on prices, membership etc for single guys ...I guess if it's under new management what ever rules, nights etc they had before might not apply anyway. Any body have any insight ?

I think in the case of this club it's a good move, had over 3 friends who have had issues with single guys breaking rules there, had issues there too, so would never go back when single guys were allowed still. |

All the single guys have to approach from on here, so just tell the guys running it, I am sure they will have a word if they are harassing you. Possibly stop them entering again would be the way to go.

Single females are allowed to go by themselves, its just the rules for single men have changed.
Ive been swinging at clubs for the last 25 years, and attending this one on and offfor over 10.

I'm not antisocial, just uncomplicated. It's how I've always played and dont intend to change it now!

I know!!!! I saw that. No way will I be going all the time that is apparent on their website!!! I’m wondering if they mean that or they’ve just made a poor wording choice. I prefer my club nights to be inclusive for all.

I think this must be a question of membership and application of a code of conduct ..I’ve been to chams many times as a single guy and never seen any bad behaviour by single guys , worst is the wanderers that circle the club a lot , but even that is not too intrusive. In general the guys are chatty sociable and good fun , fridays are a great atmosphere.
I’ve also been as a couple and it’s just very pleasant. No one is pushy ..it works really well ..

This is a shame, always had fun nights there even if just chatting in the jacuzzi and lounge area.
It is a real shame they've felt the need to do this, I guess they have struggled to keep a track on the guys who don't understand how to behave in a club environment  |

That is really very sad to hear, not the way to behave at all.
I would like to assure you that the majority of single guys I know on the club scene are very respectful indeed, after all it is a woman's world in the clubs. |

I do agree with you, the majority are very respectful. I have been to a fair few clubs and only ever had a problem in one. I think single guys in clubs are great, if any issues are handled well. |

this was previously mentioned by a thread but as the OP was the from the club owners and fab don't allow "promoting" inside lockdown it was deleted by admin
there was several couples who had stated that the new single guys rule was a good move and that they would now consider going. surely that is a good thing?
the club has a bad rep for issues relating to the amount of and the behaviour of the single guys and story's of "trains of males" following ladies/couples around and its only safe on the couple only top floor are common from people who we have spoken to and cant be a good rep for a business.
we can say from first hand experiences its unpleasant a night in any club to be pestered all night by single males also competing with each other or prowling around makes a very unrelaxing atmosphere that nobody wants to play in!
there where other nights that where run at the club owners pre covid in their defence and might return that where inclusive of other groups called taboo night that allowed all and there was a kink night also. the rest of the time its a gay sauna so its hardly like they discriminate? plus its probably the only club in the SW that charges single men the same to enter!
we guess its up to the owners to run it how they see fit and could run different nights to suit different groups but a swingers club don't run if its got not enough couples.

You need a good mix of everyone I think. You definitely dont want groups of prowling single guys ...particularly if some dont behave well ...
Membership would seem to be a good solution, a good profile on here,a brief chat, an introductory visit where the rules are explained and a zero tolerance approach to anyone that breaches the rules...kicked out ...I've never seen or even heard of an issue at chams...tho I have had one couple be randomly rude to me and if I go with a lady friend it's amazing how rude couples are in homing in on the single lady and ignoring me ...had a few frank words with some couples that were quite pushy |

We have only been once to this club to be fair, but we didn't feel harassed at all either. As as couple not really looking for other couples or girls, not allowing in single males makes a club less attractive to is. I suppose we could find someone beforehand and invite them to come? |

I think a lot of people get a bit confused as their website is split in two.
Steamers Quay is a day time spa/sauna mostly (I think) for gay men?
Swingers Quay opens every Saturday for all with the same facilities.
Not been since they reopened but heard good things! |

With shock news that Secrets has closed down, where will all the Secrets refugees end up going?
Swingers Quay or the new place Within Temptation (both Torquay) surely have to be the main contenders?
Nobody wants to go to a quiet club so we'll be watching this space with interest. Any feedback on how you got on at either, especially was it busy and how was it with single guys (not overrun?). Lots of eyes and ears wanting to find out I suspect.

Tbh Cornwall needs a club! I was wanting to go to the free event at Within Temptation but all the hotels etc in Torquay are really expensive for a couple!! |

Weve just looked at torquay for next weekend and even air b and b is over a hundred quid!!
Cornwall Council wont approve a club sadly. |

Few people have mentioned hotel prices? No surprises there as Devon and Cornwall are a few inches lower into the sea at the moment due to the amount of holiday makers! its the summer holidays and the staycation factor
Just suppose its one of the side effects of being in the English Rivera/Torbaydos place is full in the summer months and you don't see any chain hotels it's all independents IIRC |

"With shock news that Secrets has closed down, where will all the Secrets refugees end up going?
Swingers Quay or the new place Within Temptation (both Torquay) surely have to be the main contenders?
Nobody wants to go to a quiet club so we'll be watching this space with interest. Any feedback on how you got on at either, especially was it busy and how was it with single guys (not overrun?). Lots of eyes and ears wanting to find out I suspect.

Yeah 100% two different places. They are in the Center of town but not on the same street.

"Few people have mentioned hotel prices? No surprises there as Devon and Cornwall are a few inches lower into the sea at the moment due to the amount of holiday makers! its the summer holidays and the staycation factor
Just suppose its one of the side effects of being in the English Rivera/Torbaydos place is full in the summer months and you don't see any chain hotels it's all independents IIRC "
I appreciate that it's just frustrating. The beauty of secrets was you could stay on site. And most other clubs in the country have accommodation not all but a lot do.
I only mentioned it because it puts a lot of money onto the night |
