Recommendation for a first club visit?

Hi all, we are looking to visit a club for the first time so want to ensure we pick the right club. Mr is particularly nervous, but social when he gets comfortable. Ideally a club where we could spend the night meeting people without feeling like we have to play, but where we would be able to learn and see a bit more about what the best clubs are like. Would like to watch some play, Mrs is more likely to play on first visit, hubby has performance anxiety and as such a club where he wouldn't be judged for sitting back and watching her play. We are South Wales based, but more than happy to travel for the best experiences. We appreciate we are probably over worrying as we know no is no etc, but don't want to pick the wrong place for our first time and be put off. |

Our favourite is Townhouse Wirral.
They do events specific for newbies as well as a very popular couples and single ladies night which has a much more relaxed feeling.
Just treat it like a regular night out, have no expectations of going upstairs with others and just enjoy being with yourselves.

Come across the bridge and turn right for sunny Devon and head just under 2 hrs to Steamers in Torquay on a Saturday night. A great club with loads to do and see. I think there are still some couples places for the social on 11 July which should be a great place to start your journey even if you just chat and observe. look up their website or check out the clubs or the southwest swing social’s profiles on here. |

Depends on what your comfortable with.
Many are dress down clubs and some people aren’t comfortable in doing that. also how busy you would like it? Fridays / Saturdays being the most busy usually.
Check out the web sites.
You don’t have to play, no thanks is enough to stop any unwanted attention. Most of all both be comfortable, confident and listen to each other. Have a safe word when one feels uncomfortable or wishes to leave.

When did this happen? Seems a lot of the big clubs had no idea this happened. |
