Shame the content management system here links verification text to the profile that made it, so when someone deletes their account, the verification text goes.

Definitely seen people take a dim view of people who 'are verified by don't display them, because that must mean they're rubbish veris' when it's just the people have left....!

(And it's not just because I had some cracking veris...!)

When someone leave all trace of their account including messages and verifications disappear which is exactly how it should be.

Quite!

Mind you, I do wonder about the people hung up on ‘hidden’ verifications. Like anyone would leave one saying ‘shit in bed’

I do agree with this too but the site don't see it that way. Everyone knows your veris dissappear when people leave so why would they hold it against you? You have your summary showing so people still can see you have been verified.

Turns out not everyone does, and some people love to judge!

So then I guess you could ask yourself.

Are those that like to judge, people you would like to connect with?

I much prefer not having lots of verifications from people no longer on the site so I'm more than happy for those verifications to leave along with the author.

For the verification system to work correctly we have to be able to follow the trail and that isn't possible when a profile is no longer here.

There would just be lots of cul-de-sacs.

I've never understood the desire to be able to display words on a profile written by an anonymous source.

What does that say about you or your profile?

If you can't click into a verification to validate it's source or clarify the type of person or profile who created it, it becomes pointless.

This.

There's a huge difference between a forum post and a verification.

Anyone can post in the forums, whether verified or not and they're just comments or opinions on anything and everything. They don't serve the purpose of confirming a meet has taken place or any personal opinion on another site user. So having 'UNLOS'showing doesnt really matter.

A verification is literally someone confirming they've met you. Once someone leaves it makes sense for those words to vanish, else there'd be suspicion the verification wasn't genuine, had been left by an account set up just to leave it and then deleted.

Yes it's frustrating when someone leaves but everyone is in the same boat. 🤷‍♂️

land of make believe

I purposefully left a verification for someone that i knew he wouldn't show because he was pestering me to leave one *it was obvious he was trying to get someone else's attention .

I got quite a passive aggressive comment about not showing my veris on the forum. I was keeping them private because I didn't want to "kiss and tell" as such. But have since published them. Have found I have more women willing to talk to me now.

Guess there is a sense to it. I just thought I was being respectful keeping them private!

Was i the one giving someone grief. It's the ones who hide the verification summary, wanting to hide the TV meets and meets with men and protect their 'straight' status who make us laugh.

OP this may be linked to GDPR

“The GDPR right to be forgotten, also known as the right to erasure, allows individuals to request the deletion of their personal data under specific circumstances. This right is not absolute and has exceptions where data may be retained, such as for legal obligations or public interest”

I can only assume that the site wouldn’t want any grey areas in this area if an individual chooses to delete. Especially given that profiles can be publicly accessible via search engines unless your profile settings are change. I’m sure many wouldn’t want details of their verification showing on someone else’s profile if they chose to delete their account/data.

Just my thought anyway
