Or .. … etc

What else did you do as a kiddie that you don’t now .. ?

No I was told the undone jelly would give me a belly ache, was I lied to?

I used to cover my books in band and football posters. None of that individuality these days, just the corporate school logos.

I used dip my fingers in the pool of candle wax and give myself new finger tips.

I played football for more hours per week than a professional football does.

As a kid I miss finding porno mags in the bushes at the park. Seriously, how bad was it that someone in the park, where there were families, was huddled away with escort or razzle and a box of man size tissues? That's assuming they mopped up, but it would also explain all the pages that were cemented together

Yes to all of these. Still do so with the jelly.

Plus, if I needed tracing paper for say, Geography maps homework, I'd improvise using the similar type Toilet paper (wasn't it Izal brand?) which was more ideal for tracing purposes than anything else!

In the kitchen, the highlight when mum was preparing cake mixes, was to lick the bowl clean after the mix had been put into the oven. Yum!

I grew up in Stepney in London's East End in the 1970's so getting fags and booze was easy. Most small shop keepers didn't care and those that did accepted the excuse that your mum had sent you out for them.

Actually, that was sometimes true!

I also did something similar with stickers. I found an old football book with 4/5 missing stickers as never completed the set. I actually found a seller on ebay and completed it with the missing ones.

Me and my best mate used to make up a football league with actual teams from the First Division (now Premiership). Fixtures were recorded in notebooks and match results based on a dice roll. We rolled single dice for each team. 6 was 0. I still have one notebook!

Or .. cover all your school text books with wallpaper or wrapping paper to protect them?

Or .. … etc

What else did you do as a kiddie that you don’t now .. ?

Yes to all of the above. I also made mud pies, climbed trees and played football. I don't do any of those things nowadays

We had no fear when climbing trees back then, did we? I’d be terrified now! "

Isn’t climbing trees banned now as it’s too dangerous

"As a kid I miss finding porno mags in the bushes at the park. Seriously, how bad was it that someone in the park, where there were families, was huddled away with escort or razzle and a box of man size tissues? That's assuming they mopped up, but it would also explain all the pages that were cemented together

It was always a huge moment when a new one was discovered wasn’t it? It had to do the rounds and everyone had to have a look! Word got around quickly!

But nobody ever questioned its origin

True!! And back in my day they were always very hairy, unlike today. With nice moist pink bits held wide open if I recall … quite the education and much more than they taught us in school those days "

I went to an all boys school so porno mags was my only sex education. Only learnt how to wank at 13 by overhearing another lads conversation and got that wrong the first few times

Yes to the jelly and still do it now.

Yes to the wrapping of school books.

Swing the swing so hard you flip it over the top, not possible now they don’t even get to horizontal.

Hang off a roundabout as it’s spinning fast trying to grab something that’s been placed underneath

Sunday night sat listening to the Top 40, with your finger on the record / pause to create your own tape.

Both of those. The jelly was when I was doing swimming competitions. Not sure why but apparently it gave us a wee boost.

Lining paper on the jotters too that would be graffitied in the first day

I thought that was just my generation with the wallpaper books. I had wallpaper envy as a child.....

I used to press flowers. Identify them, glue them in scrap books and label and date them.

It's only banned for me because I've not yet worked out a wheelchair accessible tree climbing route
