Gentlemën, Ladiës, Binariës and Whateveriës...

I have a predilection for cufflinks. That quintessential accessory which perfectly complements a doubled-cuffed shirt with panache. Those stylish 'boutons de manchette' offering an array of fastenings - bullet, stud, chain and the trusty silk knot!

Join me and pay homage to cufflinks. More so now as we hibernate our knitwear and eagerly bring forth our 'spring wear'.

This gentleman loves cufflinks.

Did I ever parley about cufflinks?

I have now!

I'm just a simple country man, I've only even worn cufflinks on 2 or 3 occasions I do still have the last set I wore but the others mysterious vanished on the night I was wearing them, where I may have over indulged in a plethora of alcoholic beverages and removed various items of clothing such is my go to whilst intoxicated

Finally, the thread we've been waiting for. That said, I'm not a cufflink fiend and normally just go for the silk knots.

I do have a pair of silver Tiffany dumbbell ones which were a present many moons ago, and a vintage gold chain-link pair which were my Grandfather's, for when I really need to dress proper like.

Love cuff links, but with the shift to online meetings due to the pandemic I have had less opportunity to wear them in the last few years. However, I have had two meetings in London in the last few days, so on each occasion I have had the opportunity to brush the dust off, polish up the silver and look like a proper city worker.

Understated and subtle are the key words you want to hear around cufflinks imho.

Oh I love silk knots. And cufflinks. There's something so classic, so well put together about them - that finer touch to detail is always appreciated, even if not for me (I miss my days working in the City!).

I'm going to lower the tone slightly, apologies ex-husband.

Watching a man take a sip of whisky, remove his cufflinks, roll up the sleeves and then look at me, his gaze intense and dark with lust is so very erotic. It might be one of my favourite things to watch. That almost ritualistic element of it. Yes.

I've been told this by someone - not Meli, to my lasting sorrow. That me taking off my cufflinks, rolling up my sleeves, holding their eye-contact, and then looking down to the floor at my feet as an indication, was 'something I'll use to warm me when I'm 90'.

A hot water-bottle for nonagenarians, then. I love how there is a sexual niche for us all.

Ohhh, a double-cuff with understated cufflinks glimpsed peeking out from beneath the sleeve of a well tailored suit is a magnificent sight to behold. To me, it signifies elegance and care in ones appearance...if I see this in everyday attire (not someone that has been made to wear them for a wedding) I *know* I'm not going to be disappointed when I glance at his shoes, and his belt will match perfectly. Swoon

When i had to wear a suit to work I always had them as the shirts had double cuffs and no buttons…. After home working started i didnt have to wear a suit home or in the office. Staff at my new work had never seen me in a suit… until I had a meeting with a supplier and wore it into the office- lots of positive feedback about that - mostly inappropriate for the workplace… from the female staff….

I agree; there's much fuss-free simplicity when it comes to silk knots. They're versatile and come in a variety of colours, patterns and finishes. They're also a great way to get onboard if you're new to double cuffed shirts.

"I've been told this by someone - not Meli, to my lasting sorrow.

Thesp', the Oxford Inklings do a special edition pair of cufflinks featuring C.S.Lewis and Owen Barfield."

I’m calling dibs on those!!

Mine needs a new battery. I have an older one with a broken strap but they don't make them anymore

I'll know it when I find it.

"Oh I love silk knots.

Yes.

Dear ex-wife, the most endearing part of our marital schism was you giving me that fine pair of BVLGARI™ palladium-plated cufflinks. I still wear them...quite often on my first dates as a subtle reminder of those heady ritualistic days worshipping your designer quim."

Designer quim.

You just about get away this because it's you.

"I love silk knots, they've such elegant simplicity.

I was looking at some dichroic glass links yesterday, they were lovely.

Just my off the cuff contribution.

I agree; there's much fuss-free simplicity when it comes to silk knots. They're versatile and come in a variety of colours, patterns and finishes. They're also a great way to get onboard if you're new to double cuffed shirts."

Mmm. Double cuffs.

Can't beat a crisp white silk shirt and some cufflinks.

I have a modest collection compared to some here, no silk knots though. Just not my style I feel.

But my favourite atm have to be some Union Jack cuffs I picked up last year. They go great with almost every jacket I have, especially the blue ones.

Had them on just 2 weeks ago with my tux and red waistcoat. Love an excuse to get the dinner suit out

Love love love cufflinks. A beautiful crisp white shirt, even better if it's got dress studs. Fastening the cufflinks through at the start of the night.

End of the night, glass on the table, cigar smouldering, the links being slipped off, sleeves rolled up the forearms, shirt slightly unbuttoned - mesmerising. That look that just makes me drop to my knees....hearing the hiss of leather belt through the loops...

....sorry what was I saying? Yes we need more cufflinks in daily life

"I have a weakness for crisp shirts snd cufflinks . I don't know ifs a status thing (to me) but I can get quite lost in thoughts just from seeing them on a man. "

@Ms.Wyld, allow me to introduce you to

Mr. Roséy-TinTin-Glåsses. He is an ardent follower of sartoria, draped in the finest of Egyptian cotton shirts, adorned with jewel-encrusted cufflinks from Mappin & Webb and a multi-tasking leather belt. You should greet him, meet him and eat him.
