Although rare for us to cold-call, I do enjoy composing a first message. Saying something that might inspire a reply is such a literary challenge. It ought to be a module on a creative writing MA. Xx |

So, excuse me if I have little sympathy for the threads about men baffled by their lack of success. This is nowhere near the worst I've received either... |

It’s a balancing act.
If we get a “how are you?” type message it can be boring and uninteresting.
But that’s preferable over some of the copy and paste shite we get - usually a paragraph from single men saying how much they enjoyed reading our profile

I have great fun on our couples profile answering messages that are either cut and paste ones also sent to single women's profiles, or who have seemingly missed the fact there's two of us.
Whilst it's nice to be called beautiful every once in a while I'm starting to get offended by all the comments about my great tits.....😬😬 |

I really don't think you need to put much effort into an opening message. In fact I'd advise against it. When you send a message the first thing people dive into is your profile. You can spend hours pouring into a well thought out message just for them to look at your profile and go NO.
The main thing of importance with an opening message is not to send something off putting.
Send a message that is quick, simple and polite. If they like what they see on your profile they'll message back. Obviously once you've got a bite that's the time to be a bit more conscientious with your messages.

I like the copy and paste messages that are meant for couples: "both of you are so sexy".
I mean I know I'm fat, but still just the one person last time I checked.
I did have one today complimenting my (nonexistent) ink. Fuckit, a compliment is a compliment and I'll take it. |
