If you turn up to a meet and the house untidy/unclean, would you follow through with the meet or make your excuses and leave?

It may be an issue depends on how untidy. But then too clean can freak me out also. If the skirting boards sparkle and smell of Zooflora - I will be edging carefully towards the door.

We find that those with messy houses have messy pictures.

I know that sounds weird....but looking at backgrounds in pictures tells you a lot about someone.

Really depends how dirty/untidy. If it looks like something off those hoarder TV shows or a horror film I'd probably back out.

I've been to plenty of single guys's houses who don't seem to be able to use a hoover. I usually keep my socks on in those cases

Everyone has their own idea what clean and tidy means. But if the bedsheets look dirty or there's rubbish or dirty plates/cups allover the place growing their own supply of penicillin I'd probably not be feeling too amorous.

Untidy as in paperwork a bit scattered and clean laundry piled up rather than folded and put away? Not fussed.

Unclean as in rotting food smells and questionable stains, I'm out 💜

Hi untidy?

I know a proper tidy freak who thinks leaving shoes at the door is untidy. And then there’s me, I leave stuff out now and then.

So in a scale of ‘crack den ’ v ‘ikea show home’ where are we talking?

I’d hella get outta dodge it actually happened to me I travelled from Yorkshire to Kettering only to be met by a scruffy greasy young man with a big grin on his chops. I instantly knew this was a regret so he took me to his home and I was mortified by what I saw it was an absolute pigsty I didn’t even sit down I recommended he show me round the town. I did some shopping then jumped back on the next train north lol never again.

I agree with some comments, you can tell a lot with the background of some photos on profiles.

We can all be untidy, but unclean and piles of rubbish is an issue for me.

Once went to a house, to be met by a smell of cat litter that hadn't been emptied in weeks and bags of rubbish lying about. Soon turned around and left.

Instant Dick Deflater.

I've only ever been to one home so dirty it put me off.

I went to the (filthy) loo and there were clumps of hair all along the side of the bath. The bath towels smelled so sour I dried my hands on my top rather than touch them.

I had huge fears that the bedsheets would crack as we lay on them, so I just couldn't bring myself to go in the bedroom.

I explained the issue and we parted astonishingly amicably.

Clutter I can deal with, skidmarked loos and stinky towels defeat me.

Happened to me a good few years back, when I arrived she opened the door and looked gorgeous, living room was a complete mess and a dirty sleeping bag on the settee, coffee table full of empty vodka and bottles, I went to the bathroom to dress.and apply makeup, and the bath looked like someone had been cut up in it, it freaked me out a bit after chatting with her for about an hour she put the music on very loud and I mean loud, the neighbours banging on the wall, I made my excuses and left, needless to say I never went back!, talking to another gurl who had also been to the same place and she was in the same frame of mind as me, scary place !

Untidy or dirty? I think that would make a difference to us.

We wouldn't mind a bit of "oh, don't mind the mess" as we walk through as long as the the space/s we're intended to be entertained in is clean and comfortable.

So totally don't mind a few piles of books, piles of laundry, craft stuff/tools left out or a few pots next to the sink waiting to be washed. But not a house that smelt bad or just felt dirty or no clear space to enjoy.

I had a “Date” once with someone.

We were talking all day.

When I arrived they said that they haven’t had time for a shower or make the bed.

We started talking at about 9.00 in the morning, our meeting was not until 7.00 in the evening.

I made my excuses and left.

Untidy is ok. If it looks like a mad professor's workshop I'm totally cool with that. I'd probably ogle your ornery and ask questions.

Unidentified lifeforms evolving sentience in the bathroom/kitchen would give me pause for concern however. As interesting as they may be, I don't feel they should be included in the planned fun. (I might be lenient towards tardigrades however. Cute little space bears.)

There is a absolute link between unclean homes and what fun you will have with someone

Unclean I’d leave knowing it will be the right choice - experience has taught me that more than once

Untidy can be hit and miss, one comes to mind who was very creative and free spirited - but amazing sex !
