Forgotten my wedding anniversary

I’ve come downstairs this morning to a boutique of flowers and a card, apparently it’s our wedding anniversary today……yes I feel bad.

Who here are the organisers, the ones who remember every Birthday and anniversary and send cards, and who like me is a little bit useless 🙈🙈

I don't quite get how you could forget if it's important to you both. There are so many ways to remember that I wonder if you are not as invested anymore? Just something to ponder.

I knew the 20th was my anniversary, it’s just come around a lot quicker than I realised

I’ve recently starting putting dates in my calendar on my phone as I’m rubbish myself. I get a wee alarm reminder a week before the event to give me time to forget about it again till the day before

.

So you're always a little bit useless when it comes to special dates? Are these dates important to you or do they matter more to your husband?

If they're not particularly important (to you) then why not have a discussion saying just that? You can both have a more equal approach to it.

I'm an organiser. I don't mind if people occasionally mess up, it happens, it's life. I'd be a bit offended if it kept happening and they were posting about it on a fuck site. Not quite as cute as receiving actual effort.

Life gets busy

Mistakes happen

Days and dates fly by sometimes

It's easy enough to say sorry and plan something for the weekend instead of tonight

land of make believe

You forgot because it wasn't important enough for you to make a reminder.

If your husband doesn't particularly care either then it is fine.

I have friends who don't do their birthdays and anniversaries with their partner, choosing to buy gifts & plan treats when the mood takes them.

I am an organiser with a terrible memory so I have lots of paper & digital reminders for everything!!

Happy Anniversary!

It is my sons 32nd birthday today lukily I remembered 😅

All over

It happens and no need to 'punish' yourself. I am sure you can still have a lovely time and congratulations and many happy returns.

I am another advocate of the calendar of my phone, with reminders a couple of days before for those things where a card might be needed.

Thankfully, no wedding anniversaries to remember (or forget about) any more

I would put more value in how you celebrate your marriage on an on going daily basis than a single day of the year OP, if your marriage is good and your husband knows it then missing the actual day shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Get the date you got married tattooed onto your arm, it's pretty tough to forget then. 👍🏼

We have a family calendar, all colour coordinated for each family member 🫣 and I also send myself messages to remind me of stuff

Happy anniversary!

Special dates matter to me. Well, birthdays and anniversaries anyway.

However, they don't matter much to Mr. He never forgets the dates. It's more like, he'll know it's coming up, but he puts it off until last minute and then forgets a card.

Same here! Everyone is wired differently, OP, and show their affection in different ways. I think some of the comments suggesting you don’t care or shouldn’t post about it are a bit harsh. I hope you have a lovely day ❤️

I'm one of the organised ones, who remembers everyone's birthdays etc.

For a couple of years, my other half thought our anniversary (our first date) was a day later than it was, for some reason.

Why don't you keep it as a point he can use if he forgets?
