What do you listen to in bed..

Lately I've got to the point that I need music on to help me sleep. I've taken to listening to virgin Chilled as there's not much chat and lots of easy list music.
Anyone have a similar habit? If so what's the choice of music? |

When I had trouble sleeping a few years ago, I'd listen to All Quiet On The Noise Floor, by Jason Falkner. Start to finish. I'd be asleep after two or three songs, and always wake up at the same point in the final song in the album. Just long enough to sleepily grin and remove my earphones, then right back to sleep. No idea what it is about that album, but works every time for me |

I watch YouTube videos of a S Korean man camping with his little dog, in all weathers.
The sounds and music from the videos are relaxing and take my mind off of my tinnitus. Also, watching him set up his tent and gear, cooking and eating his meals and going for walks in the countryside or mountains relaxes me. |

There's some great ASMR camping videos on YouTube.
I need constant noise though. |

There's also a man who builds shelters out in the wilds too, that I like to watch.
There's usually some kind of asmr thing going on.
Even just my S Korean man slurping his noodles keeps my mind occupied.
Last night he was camping in a thunderstorm. |

I feel claustrophobic in a dark room with no sound.
At mine, I sometimes need to leave my lamp on if there's not enough light.

My go to: https://open.spotify.com/track/07uamJXxvjKfV5N8Y28oUF?si=oqz-853-QW-jMsjBPamv5Q
On repeat with fade so it's pretty seamless.

another 'rain' listener here, mix it up by chosing where to listen...
rain on a tent
rain in a car
rain on a tin roof
rain in a jungle
Also like the occasional space cockpit with radio chatter, but if I'm going to sleep with someone to listen to, it's Alan Watts every time...

For me it's like to silence is deafening. And my thoughts overtake my mind. |

I day dream before sleep to stop the spaghetti junction of thoughts.
It's the tinnitus when it's silent I can't bear. |

"I can't sleep with noise I need silence and darkness, I use earplugs
I tried earplugs, but the sound of my own heart and breathing drove me nuts! "
On a separate note.. has your town still got that 90's bar with the light up dancefloor,? |

"I can't sleep with noise I need silence and darkness, I use earplugs
Do you use an alarm to wake you? Can you hear it?"
Yes, the alarm is loud and the earplugs don't block it out 100%. They just dampen the noise considerably. Never slept through an alarm and I've used earplugs at night for years after living in the city centre and struggling with sleep and nighttime noise.
I can sleep without them but it takes me longer to get off to sleep and I'm easily woken. |

I think I've just become used to it 😂
If I have noise at night it has to be consistent noise than doesn't change, like rain noise or white noise. No music or talking. My brain can't switch off. |

I found staying at prem in print works noisy... But could never do ear plugs for fear of sleeping in. |

There is no silence with tinnitus and ear plugs makes it worse. "
Yeah that is rubbish I totally get why most people can't sleep in silence, I'm definitely an outlier I often struggle sleeping with other people now as almost everyone else wants noise 😅 |

I have a Samsung galaxy phone and the alarm at full volume is loud as hell, I'd be surprised if you didn't hear it. My phone vibrates aggressively too |

So many people seem to suffer with tinnitus "
I can even predict wo is going to be a sufferer later in life and I tell them so when they drive past me in their oompah loompah megawatt megabass cars with the body panel flexing in sympathy with the bass line.
Trouble is they can't hear the well meaning and friendly advice from me above the noise they are making.
See if I'm not correct when they get to about 40 and start suffering from tinnitus. |

If you're having trouble sleeping check out sleep hygiene (no, it not all about clean bedding). Limit caffeine, screen time... all sort of things.
Exercise is a huge one.
Some supplements can help too. |

I lie listening to the constant whistle of tinnitus. I've lived with it for so long, on the odd occasion it's not there I can't sleep for the silence.
Occasionally when the insomnia kicks in, I give up and don't fight it. My brain obviously wants to do something, so I find it something to do. |

I'm running regularly which helps..once I'm asleep I'm fine.. it's more I need noise to stop the mind wandering |

That sounds wonderful, especially the lack of light pollution on a clear night |

When the Mr is over, we have the podcast 'there's no such thing as a fish' on in the background. If he isn't here, I just have silence. I don't tend to like loud noise when I sleep, a background mumble I can get away with, it helps being completely deaf on one side though. If it's too noisy, I sleep on my good side, problem sorted! |

"I like listening to the sleeping forecast on BBC sounds"
I think there's a nice rhythm to the shipping forecast.
I tend to just listen to whichever earworm I've got at the time. If I'm listening to that I'm not thinking about anything else. |
