"Any tips on dealing with adhd ….difficulties in staying on task and anxiety…… this is becoming a difficult week."
I don’t have ADHD, but I’ve used Mel Robbins stuff to get stuff done faster, she uses like a three second rule or five second blast off. I’ve seen now ADHD communities getting behind this approach.
It’s a small mental meditation counting down from 5 to one imagining a rocket preparing to blast off and when it hits one, you just move your body and start the task. You then gain momentum from the task itself.
Good luck - read her book , if you can stay focused enough |

"Focusmate.
If that’s too much for your anxiety then I guess you could try focus sessions with someone you trust?"
I have both adhd and anxiety and I usually just focus with people I’m comfortable with |

I developed a technique with a friend called our intrepid hero, we'd set the tasks like missions on a quest and at the end have a prize for the dopamine hit. We set up a playlist of movie soundtracks, Lord of the rings etc and she would play out the story as she went. Sounds silly I know and it was mainly for mundane tasks like housework. I still use it for admin work but then I'm autistic so the LOTR music focuses me anyway. 🤷♂️ |

I have both and struggle daily even on meds.
I’m always over thinking.
Take fab for example… I cant always turn off the inside voice….
Have I sent the right message. Did offend someone, do they like me. Why haven’t the replied… if my profile ok…
Now take that and add life in…. It’s very hard BUT…
Take one day at a time one task at a time and find something that takes your mind off everything else… and focus on that |

Depends on the task
I self medicate with caffeine from enery drinks most of the time...thats usually how I stay on task for a couple hours at work
Music/tv series/films to keep your brain occupied while doing menial tasks.
But best thing that works for me is to say I'm going to do x amount of this task". More realistic goal for me and more often than not I can get focused on the task |
